This speed run is definitely better than Below Deck season five episode 8.
Which series bruh 🤣.
What is that series?
I laughed so hard I started coughing
😂😂 this guy
I don’t get it?
After watching you I started playing this opening. It is very solid.
He is high as a kite lol
By looking at Eric's face I can tell this is also a 420 speedrun ☘💭✈
This looks more like alcohol to me
I don't know why I'm enjoying this so much more than the other speedruns!
Same!
Because hippo
I've tried Hippo after watching this with mixed results, but def fun to get some wins with it, opponents seems to ger very angry
I can't tell if Eric is moving the pieces more slowly or if I'm just used to watching him crush people in bullet.
This hippo speedrun along with relaxing rapid are my favourite series Eric. You have the best sense of humour as well bro. Awesome electronic music in your vids as well. Thanks for all the education and entertainment
15:20 lmao
Keep those hippo runs coming im addicted
15:23 Holy shit 😂
Love the speed runs keep em coming
i love this series. thank you
“You might have to rewind that”- I rewound it before he said that
The slow moving took to checkmate had me 🤣🤣🤣
8:43 FILTHYYYYY 🔥
love these fun opening tutorials!
Was eagerly waiting for part 3..... Now eyeing for part 4... Please keep posting.
"Hansen is playing chess like he likes his ladies, hippo style!"
I like that you slow rolling with the piece when you checkmate them
one of my favorite speed runs to watch
so much fun, this is great content!
thanks for your videos bro, you are amazing!
I have learnt a lot about how to play with the hippo! Thanks Mr Hansen!
I am loving this speed run!
ChessBrah. Your videos are always vibes. 🫶
Dear Eric and the members of Twitch/RUclips community.
I was enthralled by Amans speed run of the Stonewall but now seeing the hippo I think its a solid opening.
However to quell my curiosity,i typed in ChatGPT " How well does the Hippo fare against higher rated players?" and this is what it came up with :
The Hippopotamus Opening, characterized by the setup with pawns on the second and third ranks (e.g., 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 3.Nc3 a6), is generally considered unorthodox and unusual. It aims to create a flexible and solid pawn structure while discouraging direct confrontation in the center.
However, the effectiveness of any opening, including the Hippopotamus, against higher-rated players depends on various factors such as the skill level, playing style, and preparation of both players. While the Hippopotamus Opening can be challenging for opponents to face, it is less popular and less explored compared to more traditional openings, which can give experienced players an advantage.
Against higher-rated players who are well-prepared and possess a deep understanding of chess principles, the Hippopotamus may not be as effective as against less experienced or unfamiliar opponents. Strong players may exploit the lack of central control and aim to gain an advantage by taking the initiative, developing their pieces harmoniously, and targeting potential weaknesses in the Hippopotamus setup.
Ultimately, the choice of opening should be based on your personal playing style, preferences, and level of understanding. It's essential to study and practice various openings to develop a versatile repertoire and be prepared for different types of oppone
Something so satisfying watching a GM annihilate novices. Its as if your beating them
I started playing this opening after watching the first of the series and gained 200 rating points in blitz. I've started playing in rapid now as well and have gained 200 rating points too! Thank you Eric changed my flair to your face so I can ask myself what would Eric do haha.
The 3 minutes format is much better. You are explaining the plans and that is what matters. The defense is fun to play and I have played it OTB once (I won). I have a friend (GM) who used to play it, and btw I live in Brazil.
15:20 fucking eddie LMFAO
15:20 LOL AHAHAHAHHAHAHA. i love you eric ;)
What's this Playlist you have on? Love it.
I always fear that his piece will drop early during that slow bringing onto checkmate square buahahaha
Very nice game and idea thank for this free continue
My new favorite thing about Fridays
Can someone tell me the title to the track at the beginning of the video “what is on my mind”. Thanks
Huge hippopotamus-sized hype!
Great. Thanks again.
Did you miss mate in 2 at 18'16"?
sick speedrun, someone knows the tracks played in background?
Big chief in the house
THOROUGHLY enjoyed this vid
Please after this series end show us new kinds of gambit speedrun. Such as dragon variation , crab opening, dutch opening, english opening . I know gm aman sir show us but i dont like his method its like he dont play english he use other opening gambit help method. But i like his london opening series and beginer chess elo. Those are the best because there are lots of quick chackmate method he teach us. Thank you aman sir. Erick sir please i love your heppo method playing. You teach us so easy way. I promise you i will watch it again and again until i masteŕ it so please dont delete this video. You think why dont i download thoes video. I do sir but virus attacked and my mobile memory card get damage. So thats why please dont delete this video. And please give us new kind of gambit speedrun. Make sure quick chackmate method and lots of tricks in there. They will love it i promis you.
@36:08 - 8...d5 would have blocked the diagonal and allowed a continued Hippo development.
Any one know why Eric didn’t play the e3 knight e2 set up at 24:55 ?
Did anyone else notice the music distortion/slow down when he didn't play the hippo?
Pros to taking the rook:
material advantage
likely resignation
Cons to taking the rook:
No BM
I love how u say hey 🤣
3:55 music
41:45 typical typppiccal
42:00 jgugggg
47:05 hgugggggg
Super game sir, sir i need hippo opening from u sir...
I think its a beautiful solid opening and i cant help but draw comparisons with the movie 300 solid structure.....AAROOOO...can be played at the background,...this is a solid solid opening, unorthodox or not.
Can u ask your higher rated players to play stuff like gambits, kings indian, stonewall (spclly stonewall vs hippo) and other openings against the hippo...it would make for ana wesome educational content. U get your likes and we get an enthralling education in the strategy of warfare.
love to play some hippo
18:10 Nxf4 not necessary just h4+ and bh3#
Eric looks like he drank a cannabis infused beverage🤣
Eric is my favourite ches player😊
Guys I keep trying to play the hippo but my fingers always slip so I play the Catalan instead. But when I play black I seem to have control. Plz help 🙏 😢
White could of sacred the bishop and caused a lot of mayhem whenever yiumanage to get a knight of f3:and a bishop on C4 against the hippo without black getting his E pawn to e6 in time.
i unironically used this opening to get from 800-1050 lol THANKS
Long live the hippo!
dear big Eric, how do u play aganist players who play the "anti-system" ?
The anti anti hippo
do you mean whites early push to e5/d5? it’s pretty dubious actually. just go for d6 and c5 when they go e5 and go for e6 when d5
hippo is entertaining
Nobody gives a shit about their Queens, and nobody gives a shit about your diagonals, its a free pawn frenzy, the only opening where your bishops are invisible, i love it, your streams are so fucking funny
erict hansent
I feel like Eric's starting rating was a little too low lmao... These are barely games. Nonetheless, always glad to see Eric :)
those slow checkmates
Morning virgin hahhahahahah love the series btw
🐙
can someone explain the move king to h7 at 1:47 ?
nevermind, he did it himself, the pawn was pinned
(hippo noises)
Why didnt brah take on e4 at 7:30
Great content, hate the slow piece move for checkmate thing he does
The outro looks so much like a deepfake it's wild
Every single person I use hippo against uses anti-hippo. Have not had one single match where any of this shit happens to me. I’m 600
good thing about you is that YOU DONT PRE-MOVE or go hyper n do a bunch of premoves like gotham/eric/aman does...thats very irritating for us watching and learning...so thank you on all our behalf eric.
this is already higher rating than me lul
Passive opening, Good for beginners, I'm 1400-1500 and I'd rather play Caro-can or Sicilian. Or even pirc defense.
🦛
Eh already saw at vod channel
I do like to watch these but isnt this just smurfing?
Yea but low level players won’t learn from watching 2500s play each other all the time. They need to see their own skill level get beat by these openings. Plus the profile says it’s a chessbrah account
Woop first view!
First comment, first like.. Yeahhh LET"S GOO!
Give this man an award Eric.
lame
First lads.
Eric is the goat (Aman is good too)
