Here in Russia you get around 325 usd (or 27 per month!) for the compulsory military service (1 year). It's often include hard labour with explosive materials. If it's not morden slavery I don't know what is.

Man I can relate to Tommy here I remeber being 17 18 and feeling as low as I have ever been. deadbeat and ashamed of myself. to anyone in that spot you can pull yourself out of it!

Other countries have this kind of "activation" for unemployed people too. Bad thing about it is that they start replacing real jobs with these one euro workers.
now its a 1,5€ job. I know that cause i did Bundesfreiwilligendienst, Federal Volunteer Service, where people worked like that in a Social Second Hand Store. Even i as a volunteer got more money oof.
Had no idea that Tommy was in the army. Would be interested to hear some of his stories from when he was in.
