Back in the 70's I was at W H L when we lost 5-3 to Derby, in the FA cup, after being 3-1 up with ten, fifteen minutes to go. They brought on Roger Davis who took the game into extra time, the rest is history. Ever since then, I have always said two goals is not enough for Tottenham. We even manage to throw three and four goal leads. We are cursed and unless we sign two proper full backs these results will keep on happening.

It has to be all down to Ange because he got rid of all the 'Deadwood' and signed who he wanted, as Levy and he said in the Fans Forum.
What too many people are saying is that the dreadful capitulation is all down to the players. I for one commented on 2 or 3 channels that if we play Ange's high line we will lose.
You can't absolve Ange of blame when what he says; is we don't need to focus on defence, 'It's who we are mate'.
This rubbish Ange has been spreading about; in that all we have to do is score more than the opposition, is nonsense to be spouted publicly. It's bloody stupid to say such stuff to our players and to all the other clubs that we are going to play.
Ange has persistently said that he is not going to play any other way, and if results like this are the future then he should be sacked due to dreadful tactics and virtually non-existent in game management. Plus he should make it clear to the players that if playing for Tottenham is not their priority, ahead of international representation, then they had better move on.
As fans we want a team we can be proud of, not a bunch of part-timers who are only here on sufferance until the next international window or tournament.
Ange has spent so much money and there is nothing to show for it.
I thought Daniel Levy was supposed to have a bit of nous when spending money. Well he has ballsed this manager appointment up good and proper.
I also think with the form he has shown since coming back pre-season that if Ange had subbed Djed Spence on at half time, he would have made a big difference, as well as introducing Moore earlier than he did.
Ange is just not up to the task and he needs to go. We could go and get Alf Ramsey's waxworks figure from Madame Tussauds and stand that on the touchline and it would do a better job than Ange. COYS.

It's Ange's way of playing not going to change the way he plays the match. You would think going into half time and think what was the good and the bad of that half. What to change and to look out for from the other side and you know they always come out quickly to get back into the match. So with us being so open he could if he wanted to just drop off a bit and give ourselves ten to fifteen minutes into the second half then push on with looking for more goals. It's Levy same old thing with him. That's way when players and managers go and you ask them about how things were when you was around and it's just same levy story. All it is that it looks different and has not changed at all.

This team defends from the FRONT. Staple of the system. The common denominator in the streak was the improved pressure of weaker opponents that led to compressing them and creating quick transition off turnovers.

I have seen this now with so many players under so many managers. There is a weak mentality that's runs right thru our club. Losing never seems to hurt. Not Winning trophies does hurt this board or ownership. The half the fan base attacks you for even critiquing anything. Honestly until the board take it serously about winning and a build a proper squad where there is competition places. Nothing will change. It will be a sorry to the fans and we will try harder next time. Which I have heard too many times. 10 times now in the premier we have lost from 2 -0 up. That's more than any other premier club. Worst start to a premier league season in 16 yrs.

I feel your pain... l believe Ange's tactics or style is probably that he gives the players responsibility to express themselves, presumably he also gives them responsibility to organise themselves to fight and compete in games. He either has to equip them better or rather dictate to them when things start to go wrong. We have a leadership team of 4....what's going on?
I think this defeat should and l say should help THFC realise more rebuilding has to go on. And credit to Ange (even if he's at fault) that second half performance is unacceptable and he will be looking to address it with out losing his principles. Too much blame is on Ange whilst Levy although spending money, spent it on potentials and not the 3 (minimum) first team quality players.

The habitual soft-centre at this club is for owners to recognize as it's a flaw in the product going back decades. If ENIC saw such a design flaw in any of their other assets they would address it so it's clear in this particular product they don't see the entrenched weakness that has afflicted our club for decades as a fundamental flaw requiring resolution because it doesn't affect the market value of the product or diminish the financial return that a normal commodity would if something was impacting its sale value. I wouldn't be surprised when they do their data-analytics that they prioritize player disposition profiles to ensure any signing fits their image of the club's homely profile ie nice and unlikely to rock a 'happy camp' or have strong independent natural leader or maverick traits which might create disharmony with the team's official designated 'leaders' and hierarchy. Hence players like Toney and so many others who seem to have something strong willed, independent and unpredictable about them are overlooked and we end up with a collective of lovely amenable likeable types, pr dreams who don't know how to get nasty when it matters most on the pitch.

When the fans are consistently having to tell the manager how to close out games you know you're in trouble. We're now seeing what it was like for Celtic when Ange was managing them in europe. He's coming up against far stronger teams than Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts every week and his style is being found out. If anything, this style would only devalue our defenders who are much better than this. They don't have a chance playing this stupid high line for 90 minutes.
When Brighton put it too us they could smell the panic and they took advantage of our weakness.
I said we'd finish 8th at the start of the season as this system is flawed and with only 7 games in, we've already lost 3 games.
There was no point in signing Dragusin and if I was him I'd be putting in for a transfer request because he's not even being used to bolster the backline in games like this especially when we need to protect our lead in the 2nd half to see out the game. His value is dropping with each game that he doesn't play and it's a shame because we'd be much stronger with a 3 in the back.
Undogie and Porro were being run ragged so a change was needed there but Spence might as well have been at home. He could have brought Davis on for his experience but instead he makes no change to our weak spot. Then he takes off our main creative midfielder Maddison and brings on two defensive midfielders when we need to score a goal to go level. And then he waits 5 minutes from time to bring on Mikey Moore. This has to be some of the worst management I've seen at the club and we're not finishing above 6th this season. Leaving Timo on for 80 minutes is a crime and this manager lives on hope and doesn't want to change things when it's clear he needs to make changes.

I'll tell you something, that thought crossed my mind that this manager is deliberately throwing games to makes sure he gets the sack early so he can collect his check.
And Daniel would love that because he'd get to start the same old cheap low wages bullshit all over again. Here's another bit of info about Luka Vuskovic as he's heading out on loan to a Championship side next year and Philips might too. There's no process at this club, it's just finish in and around the top 6 and that'll do. These youngsters coming in will be sold if they're performances levels are high enough over a 3 to 4 year period.
Nothing has changed, it's like Levy is mocking or at least that's the way I feel about him.

This sort of collapse should not be allowed to happen again. COYS

    • @todareistodomyfoot8403

The best defence in the world would cave under the pressure we were put under. We clearly needed to go 3 central defenders at the back but Dragusin might as well be at home. I'm sick of seeing him on the bench and if I was him I'd put in a request to leave asap. There was no point in signing him, he's being wasted and devalued on the bench when he could be helping us close out games. There would have been less panic with him in a 3 at the back. Davis could have came on for Undogie as he's got experience and Spence would have offered that bit of muscle and height that Porro lacks. Ange hasn't a clue, and his arrogance left him with egg on his face. That should have been a straight 3 pts for us today but this is all on the manager who allowed way to much pressure to be put on your defence when they needed a big prescience in there to help baton down the hatches.

@@colinmiller8361 The owners just down want to compete, But they'll always lie to our faces and tell us that they want to compete. But every manager that comes in is just a distraction and a highly paid puppet. So, you're right, Ange will get sacked and be laughing all the way to the bank to cash his check. And then they'll go back to defensive football just to mess with the fans again after all the seemingly hard work to bring back front foot entertaining football. It wouldn't surprise me if Tuchel or Southgate came in as they'd love a nice quick job, a year and a 1/2 lets say like Conte and Jose and get a handsome sum of money for acting out their roles.
Let's face it, as Levy has found the right team and formula to keep the fans sedated with constant PR spin that's designed to manipulate their emotions. Levy always leaves us weak and we've never had a strong squad of quality players under his reign. Even when we had Kane and Son he always made sure to leave us weak at the back and now he's leaving us weak in the front area. It's all reverse psychology or psychological manipulation. We're just one giant social experiment on how to manipulate and control a large mass of people.
