The Dominican Republic is by far one of the best countries to live-in in 2024, as long as you have a bit of money though. For those who don't have a lot of money, the opportunities are being created as the country raises out of poverty. Unfortunately a lot of Dominicans who live in the country aren't educated enough nor do they understand how the system works, so they leave to other countries seeking a better life. As a Dominican raised in the US now semi living in the DR, I can see that It isn't easy to raise out of poverty in the DR, I see the day to day struggle that people go trough to make a buck, but I can also see that that's also due to lack of education, since I see how a lot of Venezuelans have moved to the country with nothing and are doing pretty good for themselves.
Exactly. It’s interesting to see Venezuelans, Colombians and other immigrants move to DR and are able to build a stable life for themselves, but somehow many Dominican locals are trapped in the poverty rat race.
Almost all of Venezuelans that migrated to the DR already have college degrees so education plays a big part once they can legally work but before that they do kinds of work that a lot of locals would not do.
@@minibx6659 Absolutely..And thats the big difference, they are willing to put inn the work. I had Venezuelans tell me they are astonish as to how much money there is in DR. Ive even asked some of them, if things got better in Venezuela, would they go back? Most say no, because they love the lifestyle in DR.
Proud to be Dominican to have a country full of natural beauty, friendly people, and for everyone who watches those messages, let’s respect the tourists who visit here and those who decide to stay and live in our country, thank you very much for choosing our country.

Hi Dan, I enjoy your content ( Your personality , the places where you go, and The Restaurants that you choose ) and wish to see more. You are a young good looking male who has some money, ( Please be careful with the ladies ) Good for you. I am similar like you where I also like the Restaurants and night life in Santo Domingo. The one thing that I dislike is the Traffic, especially during rush-hour. I am a retired married Dominican, Cuban, American who has been coming to the Dominican Republic for over 50 years. OMG, how things have changed for the better. I live in Santiago and Puerto Plata and thank goodness the Restaurants are getting better in those areas. But if you really want fine dining and service, there is nothing like Dining in The Capital. It’s like you said “You have so many choices” You are so right about during the middle of the week their are many restaurants that are busy. The Restaurants that you and I enjoy are not Cheap, Yet I still find them less expensive than the USA. For Example; if you were in a nice bar or restaurant in Miami or NYC, A drink is typically $18-$26 ( $1,000 to $1,500 pesos) and let’s not talk about the really high end liquor. Now a beer on average is roughly $10-$16 ( $580 to $900 pesos ) . What I see is a average drink in the Capital is around $7 to $10 or ( $450 to $ 600 pesos ) and a beer is around $5 to $8 or ($250 to $450 pesos). Now I am talking about a high end Restaurant or Bar. The other thing I meant to mention was don’t let the negative comments bother you. I can see you like living the good life and you do not mind spending money. Not everyone is fortunate like you and I to be able to dine out 3 to 5 times a week. I’m sure there are a few hidden gems in the Capital that are not that expensive. When you find them let me know

I agree brother. I am American from Dominican parents. I go back all the time and actually purchased an apartment back in 2015. Half of the things you saying is correct and I agree. But there’s a lot of things out there which is very uncomfortable. Like for example public health system horrible if you don’t have cash you screwed. Now if you have money and go to a private clinic you get A one care They also lag and are to lay back for the most simplest things. I ordered a curtain from Bellon which is their version of Home Depot and they went took the measurements and said it will take a month, cool. A month past by and they went to install the complete opposite of what I ordered. They don’t give refunds only store credit and we had to pay more out of pocket because they screwed up and put the wrong one. Another month has passed by and nothing yet they are waiting for parts. There’s a lot of things that are very uncomfortable that with time people will be aware of when they live there. I love my beautiful DR and yes it’s growing fast. But there are still lots of things to be fixed which make people uncomfortable. Number one over all Education is horrible. And people need to adapt the way they drive out there which is like animals no simpathy for no one
I remember a several years back i ordered an Uber in Santiago and my driver was from Venezuela. This dude was like 22 and came to the country with nothing. Why would you buy land in a “CORRUPT” “POOR” nation makes no sense, and Ik for a fact you are 100% lying bc water and electricity are not an issue in DR, Roads in DR are ranked as the 3rd best in the whole LATINAMERICA, try again.
I WANT TO APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE, because im about to destroy that fairy tale story you're breaking down in this video. FIirst, all that development you see in the Dominican 🇩🇴 it comes from drvg traffic + money laundry (including politicians and high ranking military forces directly involved). I will agree on the quality of life you're talking about, BUT it will ONLY depend on the social + economic class group you're in.There's a mayority of poor working class people in the D.R. that don't know about that "quality of life" you're describing. Because they have to survive with a miserable salary. Plus, up to 7 hours DAILY of blockouts, most can't even afford or acces decent medical services, etc etc etc That upscale service and "quality of life" is available ONLY for the rich, the narcs, politicians or turists that pretty much CAN DO whatever they want in the land since their money can buy the justice system as well. In other words Dominican Repúblic 🇩🇴 is a true paradise 🌴🐠🏖 if you are financialy secure.
Question agree with him to some extent, and I agree with you to some extent as well, however mention one country in this world that doesn't have wealth a poverty that's the composition of modern society every where you go honey. As he said, the country is developing rapidly that a lot of that poor people are rising and improving their way of life....
Gracias por engrandecer nuestro pais, viva Dominicana, Quisqueya la bella 🇩🇴💯

Why would you buy land in a “CORRUPT” “POOR” nation makes no sense, and Ik for a fact you are 100% lying bc water and electricity are not an issue in DR, Roads in DR are ranked as the 3rd best in the whole LATINAMERICA, try again.
RD? They come to Puerto Rico in dinghies allá the time.
compared to how it was previously, VERY few Dominicans think of moving to PR anymore. Now a days its mostly haitians on those boats.
@@K1ngKrunch they still come. 10 missing and 17 arrested last month.
Those are the ones intercepted
@@angelmorales6012 Did you not read what i wrote? go ahead and read again 🤦🏽
1920 a lot of People from Puerto Rico go to DR doing the same labor then Haiti😂😢😅
It sad foreign have to talk good about Dominican cause all Dominican do is down their own people and country
It’s almost unbearable to listen to you. Background noise. Please get a mic. No offense.
Ummm.....Yes. The Dominican Republic is a 3rd World Country that happens to have some People that have money....Mostly the Foreigners.
nah
It’s a developing nation, and the fastest growing nation in LATAM, the US has more inequality than DR, and DR is currently growing more than the US.
@WarrenFearchild ..."DR is currently growing more than the U.S"...😐......🤣 Surely you jest
@@K1ngKrunch..yea
DR is not 3rd world, the disparity is bad,the poverty a trap, tourist money only goes to the top.
i’m dominican and i live here, yes you are 100% right
