  • "You're worthless!"... "You'll never amount to anything!"... "I wish you had never been born!" Words like these in childhood can wound the heart for a lifetime.
And further wounding takes place in adulthood when "control" is the name of the game. Threats like... "If you leave me, I'll hurt the children!" or "I've taken the keys-you're not going anywhere!"... are both emotionally and verbally abusive and are ways of maintaining control in relationships.
Abuse can also be perpetrated without a word-whether with degrading looks, obscene gestures, or threatening behaviors. These actions inflict immense pain and impede emotional growth. You don't have to allow an abuser to make you feel worthless. Jesus says that God not only knows each and every sorrow, but He also knows you intimately and gives you worth.
JOIN US AND LEARN HOW TO HAVE VICTORY OVER HURTS IN YOUR LIFE.

Heavenly Father, I come to you through the name of my Saviour Jesus Christ. I pray that you carry, protect and guide my daughter who is currently trying to escape and be saved from an extremely abusive partner. Lord I pray that You bring all the lies and abuse into the light. Lord I pray that the people who are in authority on these matters are guided in righteous wisdom. Lord I pray that Your Will, for my daughter and little grand daughter, will be done. You have promised your children a full and good life. Lord, I pray that my daughter's 9 year abusive suffering be turned into a testimony of Your Love and Your Promises! I pray this in the Almighty Name of Jesus! Amen!

SO true 😭😭😭. The Lord is dealing with me about this now. I realize that what is really is is cognitive dissonance - our deep held belief of our lack of worth is nearly impenetrable, but the Lord says, "Is My hand shortened that it cannot deliver?" (Isaiah 59:1). He CAN deliver me from my deep-rooted negative mindset.

You are a truly remarkable woman who deserves to be in a relationship where you feel safe, respected, appreciated, and trusted on a daily basis. You deserve to have your emotional needs and wants to meet consistently. You wholeheartedly deserve to be surprised with random romantic gestures which make you feel sincerely cherished and loved. You deserve to come home each and every day, knowing that you are always safe and appreciated. You will be able to discuss what’s going in your mind with your partner without worrying about what his reaction might be. You will be once in a while showered with physical affection in the form of reassuring hugs and sweet kisses. You will be able to know that he will be there for you, no matter what happens and vice versa. You will share spontaneous laughs with him as well as find him to be a shelter where you can share unspoken tears. ❤ Stay extraordinary, my lovelies!

This is consequently done when bamboozled in beginning of relationship thats all impressive like job interviews and that could been for long while which is why so important to remain sexually pure for a very much longer time in dating eben if almost yr it should be over a yr or more to rely knowing waited 7months getting to know but not really plus I was young not really knowing relationship should be.

I've been there. Had a 5 month old daughter. He was insane and I was scared for my life and my daughter's...had to call the police to get out of there! If you don't have family or friends or a church where you can escape to, call someone you trust and ask them to contact an organization for women to organize your escape. He does not have complete control on your life. Do not believe this lie! I understand all that extreme anxiety has weakened you; but you can do this! Congrats on getting clean! You were able to achieve this, you can find a way out. Get out of there! Ask for help, no one else is going to come and help you otherwise. Doing this alone is extremely hard already, but with a bit of support you WILL be on your feet; you can do it! ❤ God be with you! 🌹

Dear hopeseeker, may you be blessed in your quest for hope. I have lost all hope and I gave up. I have been abused for decades. God has not rescued me. The churches helped my chief abuser. They told me if I was more submissive to him he would stop abusing me. They old me that I probably deserved it and they would not talk to him because the church might lose numbers. Many Christian counselors and churches encouraged me to suck it up, and do my duty. There is help in Jesus but not in churches. There is peace in the Word, but not in the churches. They ENABLED him to keep hitting. It is comforting to know that I am not the only person that has been abused by a spouse AND the CHURCH. Keep the faith, we will make it through.

Abuse began before we were married but I so badly wanted to know God and he was supposed to be a Christian. Poured out gas lighting the day we said "I do". It has never ended.

My husband abused pain and psychiatric drugs for 2 weeks, then he'd run out and be sick for about 2 weeks. Un available emotionally, spirituality and physically for 35 years now. I understand now, I mistook rejection and narcissistic abuse because my mother would rather be a career mom. So, I started working when she did at age 2 going to nursery school to be handled by strangers. She pushed me away and my golden child brother both made myself and my late father their scapegoats.
Really sad now trying to heal at 65, get divorced, try to live in my SSI and part time jobs. I am hopeless!!! I don't know how to close this door so God can use me. I feel so much bitterness and resentment towards people and every response is a trauma response. I feel like I'm becoming just like them, sadly.😢

The part I disagree with this talk so far is the speaker saying, “You allowed the abuse!” NO, you are wrong and this is not the love of God either. This is a straight up LIE. (A child that is abused by a parent did not allow it. They had no choice in the matter.) You are not to blame in any way for how others treat you. No one deserves abuse period. Implicitly shifting the responsibility of the abuse onto the victim is NOT from God. God has given every human free will. We are not puppets. With this free will some choose to abuse another.

I have experienced this for 20 years I didn't realize how badly it was affecting me until my health deteriorated and I went to dr who recommended councelling for me. My eyes began to open and with Gods help I got out 3 months ago. Now I see how much witnessing and living with this damaged my 2 children and my 15 year old daughter is in emotional crisis after exposing long time drug use and promiscuity and ran away. I pray all day long for healing for us.
