I always look up to the Philippine Madrigal Singers as a paradigm for my local choir here in our province. The accuracy of the notes, the quality of the voices, the soul of the execution, the choral expression, and the discipline as a choral group--they are beyond compare. We can only aspire to emulate them. I am just a simple choirmaster who has learned my craft during my seminary days from my experience under the tutelage of one and only Msgr. Rudy Villanueva. Aside from this, I have learned from personal studies, observations, and practices with my choirs. Thank you, MADZ, for setting the example! God be praised in all of our music!
Every choirs in the Philippines benchmark has been the Madz. We all try to emulate them. When I was active in our church choir, it has been a traditon to watch them in concert at the CCP or at UPLB. Something we started and passed on to the younger members of our choir when I was active.
