yes it is better to use layup meter but make sure you put the layup timing on first. the meter allows you to hit more contested layups. if your driving in and there is defense being played, your green window decreases from bottom to the top. so the green window will be at the very top and u will have a higher chance of hitting it if you get a full bar

However there's a little bit of a delay sometimes when you use his standard lay up. Kobe Bryant seems to not have anything to special. This is good cuz you can get the animation off fast but at a shorter distance.

Thats why you have to learn to read the animations and turn the meter off. The meter is a great visual cue but wildly inconsistent and random compared to the animations which are canned.
So it’s pretty different from last year in terms of how it activates I use the same one as well since last year first off gotta use the stick it’s a lot better for sure and this year u can’t do the step back cancel moving straight u have to be moving a little to the side to get them to activate while moving hope that helps

It’s actually possible to do all the layups including floaters with the button. You just have to use the left stick to trigger them instead of the right.

@@LimitingAbyss1 you have to a activate the layup near the free throw line with an angle to the basket. Release turbo hood stick left or right at a 90 degree angle. If you do left or right at a 45 degree angle it’ll give you a regular layup

Easier cause you don’t have to learn the tinting but if you learn the layup animations you get a big boost
Timings are too inconsistent to have it off, green windows don’t need an extra 20% anyways, contested floaters are bigger than wide open dunks
layup timing give a boost when pairing with pro touch. You can also have it while turning the meter off similar to jumpshot

You just have to stop flicking the stick so long for your dribble moves.

You have to stop holding the right stick when dribbling. Only flicks. If you hold it in any direction you’ll start a shot.
