That's Reverend Calvin Butts. Referring to the change in rap from party and social commentary music to all street music. Thst speech was sometime between 90-92. It fit for bones name and thus was the first time out of cleveland people would hear them.
The guy speaking at the top of the video is Reverend Calvin Butts out of harlem. People like him and C Deloris Tucker led a campaign against gangsta rap.
There was a weird request channel on regular television called The Box. You made a call, got charged for a song and they played the song. Two songs nearly destroyed the channel, Thuggish Ruggish Bone and Put em on the Glass by Sir Mix-a-lot. These songs played for days on end and it was glorious.
@@NosaaNation can’t fault the masses for good taste. ☺️ But yeah, for $3.99 you could get the video you want to see, not wait around. Such was life before the internet.
This was the first album I ever got on CD back in '94. My sister gave it to me to go with my new Sony Discman that my parents gave me for Christmas. I had that album on repeat lol. I was only 14.
So apparently she was just a random person I think walking past the studio or past then standing outside and said she can sing. And they pretty much brought her in right there to do the hook
yeah, Krayzie bone told the story of how they were outside the studio smoking and Shatasha just Happened to be walking up to them and asking them what the building was and what they were doing and telling them that she could sing they told her to sing, and she did, and the rest is History
Hell yeah broher! So stoked to see todays youngins discovering Bone Thugs!! Keep doing your thing man much love from Australia - you should check out some Aussie MCs sometime! Kerser, Wombat, posseshot are some good ones to start with! Peace bruz
The statement in the beginning of this joint is from a sermon Rev. Calvin Butts gave back in the day. And don't get it twisted or get all sensitive on me, it's just a bit of constructive criticism for you to think about my friend. Don't bite other YT reactors like "No Life Shaq" come up with your own originality. Using a Shaq schtick saying, "finish that, finish that" is really tacky, ya dig? 🤔 Just keeping it a buck with you B. Keep On, Keeping On! ☮️

Im late to your channel but if you haven't look up their original crew "Bone enterprise". They have one album and has like 5 great songs but the song flow motion is on another levdl
Reaction videos to this video has me dying EVERY TIME. It's always the same comment on the shitty quality. Yea those low budget videos were that bad during that era.

Do “No Surrender” next. That one blow your mind
Hardest track on there
Couldn’t believe it when it came out , nothing comes close
This was on a whole other level when it came out.
we didn't have hd in the 90s. 240 was where it was at!
I think the fact it's 240p makes it even better. It's raw. That's how it used to be.
You gotta check out “everyday thang” from the show soundtrack

I loved The Box!
I'd forgotten about "Put Em On The Glass", and how annoyingly catchy and amusingly banal it was 😅 thanks for the reminder
