    Nicely done my friend. I was trying to explain voltage dividers to my son for a while now. But he couldn't get it. I got him to watch this video and he got it instantly.

      Thanks, it's a weird thing to explain isn't it really? This is the only real way I could explain it.

    This is the best voltage divider tutorial around! It finally clicked for me.

    I've wondered about voltage dividers. It was one of those oddities that was allusive :P Now it makes a bit more sense.

      Yes, they're really important. More to come... There's actually a third part to this too which includes a proper demonstration of a divider..

    12V÷24ohm = 0.5Amp
    Not 0.5V

    At 7:14, it's 0.5 Amps, not volts. You divided voltage / resistance = current.

    it is a good explanation.. now we jump to the practical with code.. where is the part 3?.cause i want to use vin greater than 5v which is 12v or 20v for arduino to read volt measurement through volt divider.

    The Vin pin can handle up to 30 volts, isn't that right?

    Hi, how can I read a 12v input in a digital pin without burning the Arduino?

    if its 4.65 how can it measure 5 volts? that would be over its new capability's

    Hey Antony. The unit for Ampere is "A" not"a". Its hard to watch as an electronican, to see that "a" ;)

    For arduino , we have to find out the 5V and the current level of the mA to run.
    With voltage divider process, we connected 4V 4mA to Arduino. is it work?

    hi antony.just seen your voltage divider for arduino.i have campervan with solar and 3 mppt controllers.vw t4.would like to make arduino control with touchscreen display.nextion lcd led screens i think.im trying to learn,ive got arduino uno r3 will that work.?so battery voltages usually 12.2v to 14.5 when solar or dc to dc charger on when running van .steve

      @AntonyCartwright  3 года назад

      Hi, for something like that, don't use a voltage divider or buck converter, just use a 5v voltage regulator. :)

      Hi on my campervan solar have 66 volts coming in on Renogy Bluetooth app but only 0.3 amps showing that’s over 290watts panels .100watt +100watt +90watts string just fridge on all time Waeco compressor uses about 35watts

    ~min 5.57 (holy cow, very first time I hear something like that): "divide 12volts by 12ohms u get 1volt" ?????? ....what?????????
    ever heard about Amperes and ohm's law ?
    12volts/12ohms = 1A... and when 1A flows into a 1ohm resistor the V drop is 1V
    it could take 5 second to explain correctly the voltage divider

    • @AntonyCartwright
      @AntonyCartwright  Год назад

      The whole thing is based on ohms law. V / O = A. It's easy.
