It is quite neat that the specific JAXA collab is a Mercury mission as well. Since Mercury is also Suisei in Japanese like her name (albeit written with different kanji, as the way hers is written means comet as we probably all know at this point). (And of course Hoshimachi as in star city is also connected because as I understand it Sagamihara is nicknamed that because it is home to some of JAXA's facilities (testing, development and administrative stuff from what I have seen from a quick google).)
@@asdefull Another HoloJP talent who could have worked would have been Mio because the mostly Japanese built Mercury Magnetosphere Orbiter is named Mio (The Mercury mission as a whole is an ESA-JAXA joint project with modules other than the MMO mostly built by ESA). Though Suisei still fits very well both with the Mercury thing, her general space theme and how popular she is (the latter being quite important in choice of a promotional collab like this).
As other people have said in the comments here suisei also shares her name with a historical Japanese space probe which flew by hallys comet launched in 1985.
She presumably wouldn't have so much space/star symbolism without some affection and knowledge of space. But considering she answered sun's direction wrong in that test by Fubuki some time ago, I wouldn't expect her to be that good.
FureSui plushies about to be launched into orbit to defend earth from any pesky asteroids
Wow thats like getting promoted by NASA
Hopefully we will get a comet named after Suisei
I mean Suisei literally means comet so it would be a little redundant. Then again, Hoshimachi Comet could work I guess.
@@gokbay3057 The comet just being called Hoshimachi suisei in japanese would be perfect lol
Just like Remina?
I can’t believe SuiFriend is going to make first contact with extraterrestrial life..
Friend Sui starting to gain stardom too. I hope MochiSui look on with a smile. 😊

i can imagine a jaxa employee looking for otaku collabs and reading Suiseis name then went "THIS IS IT, THIS PERSON"

There is a actually Japanese Suisei probe (with it's twin Sakigake) that sent to study Halley Comet way back.
I was looking for this comment about both suiseis

What cultured aunties they have in Japan
MILFs
Makes me wonder does anyone know how knowledgeable Suisei actually is regarding space or space exploration considering the theme of being a comet?

Step 1: send SuiFuren into space
Step 2: launch more SuiFurens for practice
Step 3: send MochiSuis to alien civilizations
Step 4: galactic empire
@@mzou89 I for one would gladly accept Hoshimachi Suisei as galactic empress.
Don't tell me that the one controlling the chopsticks booster catch was Suisei!?
*Saw aunty and Anemachi in the thumbnail*
Is that ok suichan, she's the one who do the cooking wasn't she.....
