The question begs: If he knew of the existence of these previous studies (and one can safely assume that he knew of these studies, because we live in a data oriented society and we keep data on EVERYTHING), then why would he do an independent study unless it was to try and prove the "popular" narrative correct? 2) Regardless of his reasoning behind the study, at the end of it all, he came face to face with the harsh reality of this "modern" Western society: Do NOT tell the truth, or you become a target. And who are the ones targeting you if you go against the "popular" narrative?
