Respect. 🇮🇪 These guys are waaaaay under payed for the danger the job entails. This goes for all 3 branches... But on the upside this was well made and I’d love to see more of it.
Please government, pay these people well and properly fund the Defence Forces. Give them their pay and better equipment to defend and strengthen the nation.
The government needs to increase the defence budget to 2%of GDP and pay our service people properly. They need to buy a squadron of modern jets and a frigate.
@@raysmyth8596 The Government can afford to fund our Defence Forces but they choose not to, instead keeping a narrative of peace. While we have not encountered such a situation that requires a higher funded and equipped military, it is bound to happen and when we get caught with our pants down, the Government will be to blame and not the Defence Forces. With the wake of Brexit, it is time we stop expecting help from Big Ben and to take control of our seas and skies. We are one of the countries in Europe with the biggest amount of open sea to patrol and protect yet we have a very understaffed, underpaid and under equipped Navy to do so. I am glad to hear we are in talks about purchasing 2 Lake Class Vessels from NZN and speculation of a MRV coming by 2025 but that's only the first step. Asking such a question is like asking why do we need more Gardaí when we have a country plagued with drugs, violence and other crime.
All the irish naval units at sea have an armed boarding team and all personnel on board have done armed boarding training throughout recruits. Then at the start of a maritime patrol each ship selects a team and carries out exercises whilst at sea.
well not really for cqb a 9mm pistol will do allot more and is way easier than a rifle if they had an operation that required long range engagements they have rifles
@@winneracc I may disagree with you on that reply you made. The reason for it is because other countries such as USA or Spain has 12 man bording team and each man has its own task. Two people are a breachers. Four people are on heavys (in other words they are on Assault Rifles, SMGs) and the rest of the crew are on light (in other words they use Handguns, (and time to time they use SMGs if more power need) and they carry less lethal weapons, non lethal explosive devices). The reason I'm saying all of this is because we need to take ideas from them as they are more powerful countries. In conclusion and in my opinion some NAVY Bording team personnel should get H&K MP7 issued (minimum two personnel).
Respect I am going to enlist in the navy I was debating the army or the navy but I think I would very much like to be part of the navy boarding team and this video has made my min dup.
They are a pistol is a smaller weapon and good for close combat they are also shorter as to no hit off things when they are clearing rooms like a rifle

Yeah pay tham up!
I enjoyed every aspect of the video with the exception of Paul Williams
Excellent short feature on the great men and women in the IDF. Proud Irish from Canada.

Why? We currently have enormous demands on the public purse. What compelling rational do we have for such an enormous increase in defence spending?

God love Ireland from your brothers and sisters in Newfoundland 👍🏼🇨🇦🇮🇪❤
Very hard working people.
Which unit is that has the armed boarding team? Is it a specific role you need a higher standard of fitness for etc?

Why are they using pistols instead of rifles for interdiction operations? Pistols are not as effective as rifles?

Because they havnt got rifles they're fucking skint underpayed under equipped by the government
@@winneracc I think pistols now a days can kill at more than 2 hundred yrds, and any boat they board will be a lot less than that.

Liam Neeson approved.
Warship ?????.I dont think so
Pistols aren’t an appropriate weapon for boarding crews... 😐
Well a ship would be too small and confined for anything else and other navies or criminals wouldn't be heavily armoured
General Zhukov Wrong...
@@geoffreysamsfield265 your compelling answer has really made me rethink my comment thank you
