Finally someone post clips with Kohaku, she had worked so hard for it. Back to the days where she barely get 40-50 live viewers, a handfull new subs a day she was still happy, funny and energetic to entertain her audience, even as i don't understand japanese i still love to watch her stream, her laughing saved my days. Watching a couple of clips back after the current season (3) rust server ended, this one seem super lonely, everyone seems solo/isolated & not interacting as much. Also Kohaku seems so much different, not in a personality or anything she seemed so much more outgoing in the season 3 constantly flying helicopters to raids & constantly with a massive group, Ririmu as well "don't get along with people with lots of friends" she shared a house with Hinano & Lisa. It's strange to see the difference from then and now

God she's new to rust but I was internally screaming at her to not take everything she was given. It takes a long time to craft that hear ririmu doesn't understand, even if it's an act of kindness
@Christian Quinto That is NOT how it works. If you were being gifted an obligatory present from your boss or co-workers, yes. But in general, Japanese people don't have any cultural perogative to deny things given for free. Rather, many won't simply accept things out of greed. It's like tipping. Japanese people will NOT accept tips and will return your money to you, regardless of how much you push them to accept the tip. The notion that certain things are culturally "outlawed" in Japan, like what you mentioned, are mostly myths from people who've never lived in Japan. No offence. It's not a magical land with abnormal rules, humans are still humans with basic etiquette. Look how Kamito handled it when kohaku gave him free tools for example.

There are many ways to politely tell someone you don't want something from them, like "iya iya", but the act itself of refusing them is not rude in any way. Refusing obligatory gifts from people of higher social status can be disrespectful though. Japanese people don't choose their wording carefully because it hurts people. Humans aren't that weak. It's because the society is built around the concept of harmony and hierarchy so people should actively be careful from disrespecting others. Also, there aren't many inherently rude ways of expressing things in Japanese. Usually it's just an order of how polite your phrases are, but things that are outright disrespectful don't exist as much as English and are rarely used even in arguments. It's just not the speaking culture
They do sound similar but it's not sus at all. She's leagues better than fubuki in gaming which is the only difference you need to know for them to be different
I think Fubuki's pitch is a tiny bit lower and she's way more high tension than Kohaku, where Kohaku is just slightly higher in pitch, and very relaxed in talking.
My bad, the one I put on the description is actually for the part when she read the letter from Ririmu which is a bit later after this clip. I think she wasn't streaming when she met Ririmu in this clip.
