This is because some of our Tamil youtubers trolled old Telugu movies and heroes for their own benefits which eventually provoked the Telugu brothers and they have developed a hatred on Tamil film industry... As a Thalapathy fan from Tamilnadu, here's what I wanna share which no other youtubers are sharing in any video. 1) Vijay fandom surpassed Rajni and Kamal Haasan fandoms even before his 50th movie. Even though, Vijay doesn't have style like rajni or acting talents like Kamal, he attracted a huge fan/crowd pull just because he does the commercial elements in movie perfectly 2) Vj couldn't do experimental movies since he has a huge fan base right from children to elderly people. He got so addicted to his fans that he will go to any extent by satisfying fans. Eg, Beast & Varisu are average according to fans like me, but still family members enjoyed them and each grossed 200+ crores 3) Even though Thalapathy is not interested in pan Indian movies, it's the producer of leo who convinced Vijay to make it pan Indian and then Vijay agreed. Oly coz of lack of risk from producer to release in National chains and making a 4 week ott deal, it's not released as pan Indian. If the marketing was done properly in North and a 8 week deal is made with Netflix, leo could've easily grossed 1000c by making atleast 300-400c in North alone. 4) Vijay always want to take risks for his films, but it was the producer and director don't want to do the flame test. Eg, Master is a great attempt from actor like Vijay, but director Loki made some commercial compromises, using his old movie reference (eg, kabaddi scenes from Ghilli) and also fan servicing. Except the kabbadi scene which is nostalgic other compromises didn't worked in 2nd half. Same goes with Leo, instead of making Leo's backstory brutal, Loki simply did fan servicing using naa ready song and not giving much character development of Anthony and Harold das. 5) Vijay was used brilliantly by 3 directors post his 50th Movie who are ARM, Atlee and Loki -ARM did Thuppaki, Kaththi and Sarkar, perfect content oriented with mass elements -Atlee did pure fan servicing/hero worship of Vijay through Theri, Mersal and Bigil with some little conventional stereotypical content -Loki gave a refreshing Thalapathy with little hero worship/fan servicing and showcasing vj acting talents through Master and Leo 6) His last film definitely will be a fan service one with lot of old movie references and nostalgic moments. This will be end of an era in K-Town. There's no doubt Tamil industry produces many content driven movies in future, but don't think they'll give commercial success like how Vijay movies gave. We can hope Sivakarthikeyan to bring the magic in the future

When 6 films from 45th to 50th film didn't go well in theatres, owners and distributors protested not to release any of Vijay movies in theatres since he's not compensating for loss.
