Don't ever stop making projects. You're incredibly good at what you do, and filmmaking desperately needs more miniature and practical work in a world unnecessarily dominated by CGI
There’s really nothing that I can say, that hasn’t already been said. You guys put Hollywood to shame. You work with virtually no budget, and produce shots that surpass productions with millions of dollars at their disposal. Very very well done gentlemen.
This channel has had a profound impact on my life and the direction I’m taking my own work-many decisions I’ve made about my new workshop were made because of their videos.
Oh wow thank you! That's so awesome to hear!!! I just saw your latest video of your workshop and it seems like you have a great space in the making!! I'm also in the process of renovating my own shop, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours! Good luck! ;)
Lindybeige! This is quite an honor! Been a fan of your videos since forever! I used "screen blending" mode in after effects. I didn't go into much detail because I talked more about it in one of our past videos. ;) Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/XJUHbdE0Dmg/видео.html
I went to film school, grew up on practical film making, and even dabbled with miniatures and stop motion at times. I stumbled across your how to type of videos just last night and am so excited to start trying my hand at miniatures in filmmaking and explore what I love about storytelling and film. So excited to start creating. Thank you so much for such great resources. This is invaluable. You’re work is incredible. I’ve been ranting and raving about it all day today to different people making plans for starting small, but starting. Thank you!
This is currently my favorite film youtube channel! You guys are such an inspiration and every second of your videos are jammed packed with knowledge! As I grow as a director and DP I hope to learn your creativity and scrappiness to get exceptional projects done!
I love scratch building miniatures I also love Japan and the carpentry of Shinto Shrines. This was an absolute joy to watch from start to finish!! Subbing 100%
Yes! Its me again! Yes I just commented on your last video... beside the point. This video is AMAZING! There is a lack of creativity in the world and I have deemed you fellas to hold the torch for our need! Dont let us down! Looking forward to a video every week! The world is counting on you!
Thank you!!! I got my start as a VFX artist over 30 years ago when the transition to digital was happening. I got to meet some of the best model makers and Matte painters in the business and even was lucky to stop by Disney's matte painting department before they shut down. Where they had dozens of paintings from Mary Poppins to the black hole... You are true artist! And I hope you keep inspiring a new generation..
wow! It must have been magical to meet all these people and see their techniques! Very happy to hear you like our work! We are trying our best to use that knowledge for our work! Thanks for watching!
dude this whole thing is amazing!! i love the dedication to taking the time to do it right. that wide shot looks like a painting. and the tweezers joke got me
Don’t ever change guys. I love what you do, how you do it and your infectious personalities. Love to work with you on something, gonna do my best to make it happen!
The way everything comes together is almost so poetic, obviously there are many film making and tutorial channels that I respect in RUclips but this channel feels like a history tv documentary show you know, aghhh people! understand the efforts behind this channel so that this channels grows to the level it deserves, the short films documentaries and behind the scenes are exceptionally crafted, hoping you get selected to the biggest of the biggest film festivals 😃
I am not a filmmaker, just an enthusiastic modeler and a fan of dioramas. What strikes me about this beautiful work, is that it could have been done in many different ways, including doing it almost entirely in CGI. By incorporating miniatures, matt painting techniques and lighting in different layers, the warmth and quality of the images is incredible. It's like watching a manga magazine scene come to life with spectacular realism.
Just insanely beautiful work. Looks straight out of a 90s movie, the layered approach to the lighting makes it so complicated and realistic. I can't put into any more words how stunning this is.
Nadam se da ćete ostati primjećeni na festivalima, keep up the good work!!
WOW. just amazing that the entire shot is completely made up blows me away. i love composite shots they just look great when done correctly and you guys do it!
As a retired practical (full scale) Special Effects tech I am so glad the new generation is still doing miniatures. Combining new tech with old techniques is great.
I have followed you for quite some time. Thank you for the inspiration and congratulations on the success of your films and, especially, on being steadfast in pursuing your passion. You inspire me more than you know. I am an aspiring spfx artist. I have much less funding than you. I turned my entire living room into a filming studio. I built an overhead rig that spans the entire width of the room from which I can hang any equipment. I fabricated my own manual dolly system that works very well. I share your passion for this and am very grateful that I can witness your accomplishments. I was wondering which motion control slider did you use. I assume the camera was a black magic?
Hey thanks a lot for the nice message! Yes we use a black magic pocket 6k. Our slider is Ditogear, but I think that company is not working anymore. I wish you tons of luck with your projects and just keep creating! All the best, Luka
@@sliceoflifefilm The SFX worked perfectly and does for most anyway, was only funny to me after just watching a video about this specific bird and sound.
Your skill in getting every dollar up 'on the screen' is admirable! The end result is a million dollars! (And it only cost $99, 999?) ha ha. Your eye for detail shows, (as it did in Slice of Life) and this attention to detail pays off, from your superb storyboarding images, the miniature furniture and props, to the tiny incremental changes in final shooting. Congrats on another incredible, truly worthwhile project, that will hopefully inspire some future artisans.
Many thanks for sharing your process in bringing this beautiful project to life. I love to see the power of digital combined with good old-fashioned artistry & craftsmanship. Truly inspirational.
You guys are DIY Filmmaking legends! So inspiring & always a huge fan of the amount of realism & fine details you put in to create artistic, stylized & aesthetically pleasing shots! Would love to see you guys tackle a Heavy Metal magazine vibed Sci Fi Fantasy Space Epic miniature filmmaking content in the future!
I honestly can't decide if the final films or your "making of" vids are more entertaining, but while the jury is out on that one, please keep these little masterpieces coming! 😍🙏🏼
I know exactly how you feel Lasse, I re-watch the 'Making of' clips for 'Slice of Life' probably more often than watching the actual film itself. There is so much joy, love and skill in what Luka and his cohorts do, and in genres close to my heart, that it just makes me happy to watch anything associated with the work.
This is incredible guys! Thank you for showing your process. You’ve seriously inspired me to level up my miniature filmmaking game even further. Beautiful work!!
Yesterday I saw your sci-fi movie where you created cool futuristic buildings with small boxes and old telephone, Today this. Each video is no less than a masterclass. You have become my favourite. ✌️
Not in this business but you guys did an amazing job. Lots of work and planning went into it. You sold the shot really well... Thanks for sharing the process here!
Love your stuff! So mouch detail but at the same time you’re not spilling any time and if it looks good it’s good enough. Have watched all your work and I wish I lived in Croatia so we could work together. Keep it up! Cheers from Sweden
That’s awesome!! The second he brought up the other guy’s tweezer skills, I immediately thought that there’s no way he was gonna make a penis joke. Thank you SO MUCH for not letting me down!! Oh yeah, ALL your work with/on this dojo project is top notch and very inspirational to aspiring filmmakers. Obviously, other than the price of the motion controlled slider rig, I am intimidated by the complexity of the device, while being overwhelmed with the possibilities, once you’ve learned the necessary functions. Keep up the great work!! 😀👍

Kind of a strident and demanding tone you're taking there, you 📌.
