The products you are using are water based which is why your hair is reverting! Also you could use a trim however you should have it done professionally but if you do it yourself you need sharp sheers. The low heat on the blow dryer is not an issue also your texture does not require high heat to become straight. If you want it straighter just flatiron in smaller sections. If your going to use a heat protectant you need a silicone or light oil base products. Personally I would use a light weight leave in on clean hair then blow dry with moderate heat then apply a silicone oil type product or a lightweight oil then flat iron on moderate heat maybe 400 at the most in smaller sections😉

thank you so much 😃 for this useful information. Definitely going to use these tips next time I try this. Oh yeah I most definitely need a trim. After looking back on it .I’m well over due for one 😮. I usually trim my own hair.

Wow! Natural 15 years! that's a long time. I'm in year eight of being Natural. I'm in the same predicament as you. I always wear mini braids.
Because I don't know what else to do. Mini braids are such an easy route .Now I'm trying new things as well. Fingers cross for Both of Us 🤞while slowly stepping out comfort zone. I know It can be quite risky. It's the only way to learn. What your Natural hair like and don't like🙂.

@@naturallyimperfect8399 Congratulations on your 8 year journey! Yes as soon as I take one cornrow protective style down I let my hair breathe a few days, wash it and right back up in a different style 😂 but yes I think this time when I take down I am gonna step out of my comfort zone and flatiron and trim my ends. Will keep you updated on how that goes, fingers crossed 😂
