Join me this week as I take out a Can-Am Spyder F3 out for a demo ride. Quick shout out to BPE (BlackPhoenix Entertainment) @BlackphoenixEntertainment go subscribe!
They are a lot of fun. The thing I tell people for their first ride is to loosen your grip on the handlebars. I tight grip makes it sway just a tad left and right. I rode the one I had for a week before I learned that. I was putting the “death grip” on it. I liked to downshift myself on it. More aggressive 😎. They will move pretty darn good with that triple.
Oh man I didn’t even think about loosing the grip. Yeah at first I thought this thing is really sensitive in the steering, but then after a while I didn’t notice it. (Probably instinctively started to relax my arms lol). Yes they are pretty quick, got to push it a little off camera 🏍️💨👍
Glad you got to ride a Spyder F3 and I hope your dad enjoyed it. When I was doing research on the Spyder vs Trike, I went with the Spyder because of the OSHA "Triangle of Stability" and it really feels planted on the road. I took the 3 Wheel Training Class in 2020, I rode an F3 and really liked the way it sat lower to the ground. I was grabbing air (Reaching for the brakes) but I got over that quick. I was retiring soon, so I pulled the trigger on a 2021 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited, Sea-to Sky Editon. Then, the work explosion came so I had to watch it sit, in my driveway. Seemed like an eternity. They are great bikes. When your time comes, you will know what to expect.
Thank you sir. Yeah he had a really good time. The bike he rode, fit him pretty well. He's tall and was very particular about his leg room on the floorboards. That dealership custom fits there bikes with specific floorboards (optionally) if you want that.) When he sits a stock with the stock pegs, his knees are practically up to his elbows, lol.
Thats awesome, I wonder if in a couple years there are going to be more bike companies going to electric shift, or DCT or CVT type transmission options.
Looks like you had fun! I keep meaning to throw a leg over one of those things to see what they're like... just haven't done it yet. What did your dad think? Also, that's the creme-de-la-creme right there - the F3 Limited is the model I'd be interested in - more room for stuff :D
Thanks John, yeah the limited version has all the comforts of a touring couch.. lol Dad really liked it, we looked at some in the showroom and he's particular about having plenty of leg room. An most of their bikes they fit them with really nice floor boards, that helps regarding leg room. When he sits on a stock one without those extended reach floorboards, he looks like a pretzel lol. Guy at the dealer told us after 2020 I believe they extended the wheelbase or made more avaialble leg room on the Spyder models. He explained the difference between the RT and the F3, the RT he considered it more in lines as long a Cadillac Escalade your sitting more upright seeing over things, where as the F3 model seems to be more like a Corvette. Your more relaxed, sitting a little lower and more stretched out. He sit on both bikes before we rode, and seemed to like the F3 better. Wish we could of rode the RT as well, but he had his mind made up on the F3 and the demo time was limited.
@@TechNickRides Wow, why isn't THAT on their web site? I've looked and tried to find differences like that on the Can-Am web site, to no avail. Thanks, Nick! So is he getting the F3 then? :D
I just looked that up earlier and yes am suprised too, that they don't mention that, or at least offer the option to customers to pick between a handbrake or footbrake option.
It's good to see you try different bikes for the experience. It's definitely different riding a Spyder. I kind of like it. :) Great job, Nic!
Thank you Eric, I really enjoyed the ride, your right it’s defiantly a different riding experience 🙂🏍️👍
ECO mode is nice for beginners as it indicates when to upshift. Quick, yes it can be lol...
Cool thats good to know. Yes, I did get to give it a quick twist on the throttle (off camera), it would scoot. 😆
@@TechNickRides 🤪🤣🔥

My Harley is an electric shift and I love it. No clutch required unless you’re coming to a stop. 😎👍

glad you had a good time. Those F3 limited are really nice. That would be my road trip machine if I had the room for it. Thanks for the shout-out.
Oh man your absolutely right. I could of just taken off on that bike and easily went on a long trip!
Cool you got to test ride with your dad!
Yes, he enjoyed that. Still talking about it weeks later, lol. #memories!

I know where you can try one in July, John! 🤪
@@PurpleOnThree Oh, that sounds like fun! :D

That one would be the only one I would be able to enjoy riding. They rest of them felt too small for me. (that's what she said)
Lol yeah my dad rode the F3 limited on this demo as well and he’s right around 6’1 and it seemed to be the most comfortable for him, even over the RT.
Hey Nick. I would like to try one.
Hey Larry, there a bit different that's for sure. 🙂
I know where you can try one in July, Larry! 🤪
No hand brakes is the #1 reason why I don’t ride a Can Am.
Theres a company that makes a hand brake conversion for them. This is something I wish Can Am would get on top of, people need to know these things.
I just looked that up earlier and yes am suprised too, that they don't mention that, or at least offer the option to customers to pick between a handbrake or footbrake option.
