Great tip. I've used that same solution for years to clean records. It's a must have if you pick up used records from garage sales, flea markets, estate sales, junk stores and the like. Great for getting the dirt off. Not much you can do about the scratches and scuffs. I used to hit the local record shows for years, but about 2 years ago, the 45's at these shows just dwindled down to nothing. Sometimes, I run across a hand full of 45's at a flea market or junk store, but they are beat to death. I bought and sold on ebay for years but the fees and hassle just got to be too much.
Hahaha! Exactly. I find records in the weirdest places and am usually surprised if they are in nice shape. Amazing what a little cleaning will do... and how much difference it makes in the sound.
I always thought that was a fantastic idea. The problem is finding a good one in usable condition that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I just did a search on new ones (yes, they still make them...lol) and the prices for a full-size one are staggering.
I suspect that hiss is from a bad needle playing a dirty record over and over... by the time us record guys get a hold of it, the damage is done. i have noticed that playing a record 'wet' - with a little cleaning solution beading on the surface - helps the sound a bit ;)
Do you wanna get them looking nice and shiny you can use the dishwasher is only for washing dishes but you just use it for a second no soap nothing and don’t let the machine get hot because we do a room and you can experiment with something you don’t like this but don’t use it a whole cycle you’re on it so just wait before you took it for a minute that’s not a little bit so you can get Daniel Murphy and then dry really good with a good class I want to use for the car

I would keep cleaning that until the nicotine is gone, no matter how many times it took. I wouldn't drag my needle through that...
I want a vintage jukebox from the 40’s through 60’s with 45 vinyl records one day 😢

I have encountered far too many nicotine-stained 45s over the years!
