How do you take a small scale pattern and make it 1:6 scale? Say 1:12 to 1:6? Love your videos!!! Came across a miniature pattern book but am at a loss as to how to enlarge. You make everything look SO easy. I know it isn't, and even though 1:12 is larger than 1 :24, it would be totally beyond me. Always look forward to Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays, for your videos. Thanks for doing what you do!!!
Multiply. For 1:12 to 1:6 -- double the lengths. For 1:24 to 1:6 -- quadruple, i.e. multiply by 4, the lengths. (Retired high school math teacher here.)
I can’t imagine the hours it took you to make both rooms to have it summed up in a 10 minute video. I appreciate the time you take to make content for us, it’s very much appreciated. You did a fabulous job putting them together!

Most people doing dollhouses start with 1:12 scale, but they are big and take up a lot of space, so then they start doing 1:24 or half scale. It's easier to work in smaller scale because you don't need to put the same amount of detail in.
I love both rooms! I worked for years in 1:24 and 1:12 scale with occasional smaller projects. My hands don't do as well with the smaller scales now so I work in 1:6. Making Barbie things to scale is a learning curve for me. My brain thinks in 1:12.

I love the little room kits! I used to have a high shelf with several rooms on it, with the little animal people (Calico Corner?) living inside. Until my cats decided, after a few years of ignoring them, it was time to investigate. 😱
Hi, Toya! I'm working on a 1:48 scale Tudor dollhouse right now, and a great glue for working in this tiny scale is clear silicone glue, applied using a needle nosed glue bottle I found at Hobby Lobby. The glue has enough "grab" to it to hold tiny pieces together easily without clamping while it dries, and it dries quickly, yet gives you enough time to make sure the fit of the two pieces you are gluing together is correct. Also, a pair of tweezers for holding and placing tiny pieces can be helpful.
Your doll size dollhouse is way better then the tiny one, I do love the the little flowers in pot, hot chocolate, and bear cookies but I wish they were bigger. See you next time. :D
Great idea to resize👏! I loved yours better 😍 I've bought a couple of those kits & even started on one but set it aside & didn't finish it as those do take a while to complete & the size makes it tedious work but definitely love how it looks when finished👍

I made one of those kits in 1:24 years ago and then started designing my own which is so much more fun :) I make now roomboxes in scale 1:24 and scale 1/6 for my BJDdolls and ascoirises and clothing. I was wondering when you would discover the small dollhousekits; love your 1/6 version!

My aunt had a business where she made doll house miniatures in 1:24 scale. She was amazing at it! But your 1:6 room looked almost identical to the smaller one! Also I didn't know they had velour printer paper 😁
Great job as always Toya. I prefer your Barbie sized room. I like miniatures but 1/24th scale is just too small for me. I think that it would work with the Polly Pocket dolls that are about 3 inches and Maybe the McDonald's Happy Meal Barbies and the small about 3 inch sized Disney princesses.
1:24 kits are addictive if you have the patience. I started them during lockdown, but I love tiny things. Of course 1:12 or 1:6 is much easier to do: I managed to find some plastic canvas for Barbie booklets, I am starting a campervan and then a castle for my Licca family, because I can't find the Victorian doll house I had when my girls were small
I'm glad you did this because I have a few kits that I accidentally ordered and never sent back for like one of those little tiny Phichen 1/12 scale dolls and I never opened a package I was just going to sell it but I think I'm going to try maybe I don't know but glad you did it☺️
I think you came really close! Looks nearly identical to me! Probably would've worked better if you'd taken the printable from the mini scape and resized then printed them. I totally thought you would end up doing that, but you surprised me by using your own instead. That reminds me, what kind of program do you use to make your printables? Cause I really want to make similar printables for my dolls but with my own things on them! I was just wondering how you did it.

Going from 1:12 to 1:6 I think you just double it… totally not sure though 😅 I usually eyeball everything and adjust to my room size

It took about 17 hours 🥹… 😅 but I love crafting so I was up for the challenge, but this was difficult for me
