  • After a long time in hibernation, the Magni has finally made it on to the road. A run to the MOT centre in Newtownards to be tested then a pleasant run home to Tandragee. As I say in the video, this is the first time I've ever ridden this bike since purchasing it in November 2022. I was slightly apprehensive before setting off but very pleased with the bike by the time I got home. My first Italian Classic!
    Enjoy the video.

      Runs sweeter than my Daytona RS. Wish I could finally find someone near Camberley that could sort it once and for all. Every place I've been to including 3x have never made it right. That sounds how mine should. Best Dave

    I do love a Magni, they oooz charachter in a way only truly exotic machines can. I was lucky enough to meet him briefly in France, at a bike show playing with some MVs.

    I was never really a fan of the Moto guzzi bikes, personally I didn't like the look of the engine across the frame, but that bike looks and sounds superb, a neighbour used to have a laverda Jota, the engine noise was spine tingling. Anyway Alistair, another gorgeous bike for your fleet.

    Did you purchase the Australia from a chap in the North of England? I used to email him on and off and we compared notes on the bikes.
    I've got an Australia 98, your's is a 92 I reckon, they made 2 runs of them. Externally they look the same but a bit different under the hood

      Yup, that's where I got it. Steve in Sunderland. Haven't been out much on it yet. Busy with other matters. Do you still have yours?

    • @MistaWeeGee
      @MistaWeeGee Год назад +1

      @@AlistairCampbell1047cc Yeah, it's not as tidy as yours though and having the C kit (Daytona RS) engine overheats at the drop of a hat.
      I think Steve told me that yours is B kitted which is probably the best compromise, as the C kit cams are ridiculous.

    Beautiful bike. Does it still have the original oil pump and alloy timing gears?

    • @AlistairCampbell1047cc
      @AlistairCampbell1047cc  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thankfully, no. They were replaced with upgraded parts. I have the old bits in the box of spares that came with the bike, although I can't see much wrong with them. Apparently, they gave problems. Thanks for your comments.

      @@AlistairCampbell1047cc My pleasure and thank you for these videos, they are brilliant. Really interesting and enjoyable. I remember when the Magni Australia first came out. At the time it ws way more expensive and exotic than a Ducati 916. The magazine article was showing how the #1 is not painted black, the #1 is the underlying unpainted carbon fibre. Little touches like that make the Magni unique.

    Does it have overheating problems? The fairings look very snug to the cylinder heads and there is just one air duct per side

    • @AlistairCampbell1047cc
      @AlistairCampbell1047cc  Месяц назад

      @filippogalli3477 no, no overheating problems at all. There is an oil temperature gauge which runs around 80°.
