That helped me understand the Guideline system better. Different than what i am accustomed (I use base 32). I have been designing in Fusion and bringing it to Aspire to create the gcode. this simplifies it a little. Especially how i use my CNC as my table/workbench/CNC. I often only want to cut 1 piece. being able to design accurately in Aspire would save time.
I appreciate the comment, and I definitely do agree with you that VCarve could definitely benefit with a little bit more accuracy and improvements. I’m glad it helped a little and if there’s anything I need to explain more, please let me know. I do not know much about fusion, but I currently use Cabinet Vision and it is pretty easy to generate a single part for scrap use. I will look into fusion
Great video, I'm about to take on a bathroom remodel and I'd like to build the cabinet myself. This video was just what I needed to start thinking about my design/cut process. Thank you!
This is the way I start a cabinet design Get a piece of paper and do a sketch of what I want and need in a cabinet Drawers ,Doors Then think about what size you want it to be and do you have the space to put it. maybe look on line and find a cabinet that fits your needs and use that to help you design your cabinet. Do you want to cut it out on a cnc or by hand. there are a lots of videos showing how to build a cabinet watch some snd se how a cbinet is built.
yet another tip:, if you need the decimal, from a fraction. Vcarve can do that on the spot for you, on the entry field just type in the fraction, like 15/16 and then enter the equal sign , like 15/16= it gives you the decimal so you don't need a calculator for that, kind regards Hans
Yeah, I can send you a file. I still have to look into creating a shareable dropbox. Until then, if you want to email me at Kbcinc1@gmail.com I can send it that way.
You don't need to copy before the mirror command, that is built into the mirror command itself, just tick the box bottom left corner. Kind regards Hans
We currently use a Cefla Prima P paint system. It has four guns and it has a great coverage. Lately we have been using 1 good sealer coat and 2 top coats. We have been pretty successful at getting it even coverage where it looks good in the corners that way even with manual painting.
Yep, that command is invented for that sort of operations. One of the reasons I watch a lot of these video's, is to learn the most efficient commands in a program. kind regards Hans
Hi, would you be willing to share the vcarve file by chance. Just learning the software and would love to play around with a finished file. Thanks for the video I am a subscriber now.
This video is ment for a beginner in making cabinets..? In order to be able to follow this workflow you do need a full 1,25x2,50 meter cnc bed... Majority of beginners don't start there cnc journey on a (semi) professional machine with vacuum holding and automatic tool changer. Majority of beginners will have something in the range a 6090 and will be able to machine a board of 620x2440mm (½ a sheet). Your workflow will drastically change on those smaller beginners machines.
Hi, thanks for the comment. Our machine has a vacuum table so we use suction to hold the boards down. I use a 3/8 compression bit for a 1 pass cut through.

Thanks. You explained every step really well. Would love to see how you would do different doors styles
Thinks I really appreciate the comment! I will look into making a video that goes over MDF doors and how to set up different tooling profiles
Great videos, Keep them coming
Thanks I really appreciate the comment
Thanks, Im learning VCarve and this is a great help.
Glad to help!
things like array copy for holes, guides on/off are well worth learning to speed things up 🙂
I agree, makes it a lot faster I think they invented the array command specifically for that reason? Kind regards Hans
Thank you....Awesome video!!
Thanks I really appreciate that!

I'm new to vcarve and I found your video very informational. Would you consider sharing that file so I can look at?
Yeah, I can send you a file. I still have to look into creating a shareable dropbox. Until then, if you want to email me at Kbcinc1@gmail.com I can send it that way.
It is in the drawing settings, under file operations second row first item "set job dimension s and origin

a shortcut for rotating a selection: just hit the number 9 key a few times, ever time it turns 45 degree
Hint: Dados run across the grain and grooves run along the grain.
Pro Tip
another tip: if you draw your red dado line, in stead draw a rectangle of a half inch wide and then you always cut inside the lines.
Hi, using SHIFT arrow makes it move ten times faster did you know that ? and CTRL arrow makes it go slower for more precise placement
Hi, regards from Mexico.
For the cutthrough in 1 pass, do you use tabs and ramps ?
What do you use to keep the pieces from moving?
our CNC has a vacuum table. The suction holds the board in place while the machine cuts the pieces out.
How do you finish mdf doors? How do you get smooth finish on that pocket when painted?
We currently use a Cefla Prima P paint system. It has four guns and it has a great coverage. Lately we have been using 1 good sealer coat and 2 top coats. We have been pretty successful at getting it even coverage where it looks good in the corners that way even with manual painting.
You used a lot of guide lines where you did not need them draw a rectangle and then use the offset inward to make the sides of the doors.

How do you make 3D looking in HD resolution ? Mine looks horrible with any option

Yeah, I don’t mind sending you a file. Where would you like me to send it to?
@@KBCabinets if you can be kindly to post a link so other beginners can use and follow, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I will pin a link with the file in the comments and start doing that in future videos
please use the offset command, I hardly ever use guidelines, way to slow. Kind regards Hans
