"Brâu" ("a kind of traditional belt" in a free translation) is also a romanian traditional dance found in many areas of Romania, but the rhythm and way of execution of the steps differ. Brâu from Muntenia is danced either in a circle or in pairs, the rhythm being alert. In the circle choreography, each dancer rests his hands on the others' shoulders, arms are extended, movement is from left to right. The steps: with the feet slightly apart, lift the left foot to the right, then the right foot to the left, followed by three steps to the side with the right foot. The choreography resumes. More experienced dancers can also perform more complex movements, but the basic step and rhythm remain the same. NOTE: Brâu is danced only by men.
