Hey mate I have always questioned the idea of throwing ahead of the drift. Because in theory the flathead are sitting with their heads towards the flow of the current which means when you retrieve your plastic it will be coming from the back of them toward the front, which seems to be the opposite of what they would be expecting?? As the bait fish would be swept off the flats with the tide change.
Gday TTV, that's my flathead ground your fishing by the looks of it, just wondering if you have found the fishing really poor in warmer months like I have, every year is the same for me, from October to April the flathead seem to disappear or just stop feeding, and ive caught snapper up tp 60cm along that ledge that runs north from glass house creek mouth , nice jew as well, and have you ever gone after summer whiting up that way?, ive targeted them so often with yabbies or worms and they seem to be so rare in that waterway, ive sworn off them now, too bloody hard..
Hey alleycat1, not a lot around in size or numbers, mainly selected these areas to focus on technique stuff as the fish move around and it's more important to have a bag of techniques than a bag of spots. Hope they fire for you soon. Cheers, Justin
Great video mate.
Last two hours of the run out and the first hour of the run in are my favorite time to target Flathead too. Some great tips there fellas 😎
