Richie is by FAR the best artist I have come across in the last eight years or so. Of course, I was aware of him with the projects he has been involved with over the years (Mr. Big/ Poison etc.) but was oblivious to his solo work. When I first heard '24 Hours'... BOOM!! That was it!! I tell people about him at every opportunity.
Good point...In 1971 I watched John Mclaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra play a theater venue of around 800 people in Houston during 'The Inner Mounting Flame' tour...Incredible show, to say the least...
saw him live. he's not that well-known, but het seriously IS the best guitar player in the world. he can sing, drum, play bass and is world's best guitar player. his poison work is sick, his guitar lessons things are really awesome (ending solo IS sickest solo ever). and he can play everything: rock, metal, sweep, acoustic, blues, jazz(fusion) (look at his trio Vertu)

Greg Howe is still the best at putting groove and virtuosity together. Richie has the whole package. He is the best at making virtuosity catchy. Ty Tabor is good at that too
All I can say is that solo brings a tear to my eye, maybe im a tad jelious , in awe but that tone is what I try to achieve on my strats , but so hard cause its the the smoothness of his phrasing an the way he slides in an out of chops omg he makes me sick an its getting hard to watch!
