What an exciting journey. Right now, the electric is NOT in yet. Only roof, outer wood walls. That is it. Not even the AC units. I am trying to make some very very easy changes in the electric. I want my carriage light on the side of the garage instead of on top. And I want the second back flood light on one of the outer corners of the back of the house instead of the back porch corner. They are giving me grief about it! I said, all you have to do is change the electric schematics at this point - that is it. No rework has to be done. And now they want to charge me extra fees for just doing those two small drawing changes. So I feel your pain. I already had to pay a little extra to upgrade my lighting fixtures from the cheap ones they originally chose for the house. And I paid big big big dollars extra to get a Gourmet kitchen. I wanted the double wall ovens, a 5 burner gas cooktop, and a microwave. I also paid extra to have an undermount sink in the laundry room. That was all - and you would faint at what they charged me to do just that. You have to fight for everything. And if they dont know how to answer your questions, dont stop bugging them until you get answers. I wanted to make sure that the padding under all the carpet was a builders upgrade and not the cheap pillow foam padding. They finally assured me that I would get the better padding. I am losing sleep over this.
