    I love how safe pikes Peak is, they don't have barriers so you don't get caught in fires, also the trees are great catch mechanisms too because they don't kill you. even the spectators being 5 meters away from a crashing car going 140mph provides an exhilarating experience, without any harm!

  • @lerch25
    @lerch25 8 лет назад +290

      Ch0plol I was only disappointed in the fact that the visual damage of cars are pretty limited. According to an email from CodeMasters though, this is part of their contract as they are using real world cars and the car makers don't want them showing too much damage on their vehicles, which kinda sucks but what can ya do lol. As a driving game it's pretty amazing, one of the most realistic driving games I think I've ever played. It's quite a challenge too and I love it for that. There is some great mechanical damage as well that sticks with you between every stage which is an awesome touch.

    I know remembering all the turns for 12 miles is part of the huge challenge/difference, but imo, adding High Risk Caution Area Signs 500 ft ahead of a major cliff turn would be nice. Wouldnt give any untrained person a big advantage but still help reduce the confusion during racetime, especially in an already low O2 environment. No one wants this race to be shut down.

      +GRAHAMAUS thats why its called racing bro.. You really think back in 50's they had some super car that could handle that?. It used to be be Joe blow down the road threw some bad ass all terrain tires on his nova or what ever they had then and went. It can be that nowm but at lest they have more safety now then they had then. People died by then in races, not so much now thankfully but Suitable is just a word, if you build a car for it or not go for it as long as when you roll it over or take out a tree you got shit around you to save your ass.

    To all those concerned about the spectators 'stupidity', don't worry. Nothing can harm you as long as you don't stray too far from the comfort of your safety padded, cotton wool wrapped, security monitored, temperature regulated living room armchair. Keep the yellow fluro vest on just in case for added peace of mind, & always remember that someday, thanks largely to your observations & commentary, 'common sense' will kick in & no-one anywhere in the world will be able to enjoy the excitement of watching an event like this in person at the roadside. Until then, hang tight, & above all, STAY SAFE. It's just a matter of time before people are finally stopped from choosing to do whatever they would like to do with their own lives I assure you............

I'm surprised someone is actually racing pikes peak and doesn't know the track properly.

      Not really, its just what happens when you make a compilation of crashes from a massive racing event that's 92 years old. Look up Le Mans crash compilation or Nurburgring crash compilation and you'll get the same thing. I really wouldn't diss Americans about cornering right now considering the 1.5 G of cornering that the Viper ACR is capable of. The z06 is faster than a NISMO GTR, and the GT350R is the best cornering car under 70 grand. Maybe you little "ha americans cant corner" joke was funny 10+ years ago, but it has really died off. Get with the times m8.
