Great day out that Andy, made all the better for running with you and Jordon. The meet-up before was great, I will have to do a few more of those as I normally shy away. I am about to start a half marathon block to hopefully get back under 95 minutes. Good luck again with Valencia.
Great vlog and loving seeing all the support and followers you have now! I’ve been an inconsistent watcher recently (I don’t watch running videos when I’m being lazy and not running) but I’m here to say I’m back 😂
Amazing how the race just gets your emotions! I ran it on my own but felt part of one huge family. So glad I had the chance to run it. Exceptional running too Andy!
Fantastic event every year despite the weather. Fast year this year, I’ve completed over 30 GNR’s now and got a 15yr PB this year… by 5 mins. The weather helped a lot. You got me on you video so that’s the first time I’ve seen myself run the GNR. See you all next year!
Actual tears came out watching the last 600 metres of the race. Brought back all the emotions of the day. Got myself a membership so see you on the start line for the next 3 years 🎉 great video once again 🎉
Brilliant vlog Andy, loved that. It was my third this year also. It was wet but warm and the worst part is you never want it to finish. It's so amazing and even in the rain the people of Newcastle and South Shields came out to make it so special. I'm not going next year as I'm having a break as the driver back to Birmingham is the worst journey ever 😂😂
First time doing it this year, i immediately signed up for a membership when they became available, such an amazing atmosphere even in the pissing rain!
Well done! Did my first GNR this year, absolutely loved it even with the rain 😅 Was a bit behind you in the green wave, in a time of 2 hrs 27 mins which I was chuffed with given I picked up a knee injury 2 weeks before the event!
Got my place in next years for my first GNR and first half marathon. One boring logistical question, would you recommend getting the metro in that early (as it’s my plan to stay a little away the night before then metro in)?
I would say you probably want to be in central Newcastle by about 8:30 at the latest. I ran this year's race and had a fantastic time, but if you are even slightly late everything will take ages to do: I was waiting for the metro in Gateshead at about 9AM and couldn't get on the first 3-4 trains due to how busy it was. The walk from the station after is also a lot further than you think it will be too. This delay lead to me missing the bag drop (said it closed at 10:15 for the orange wave but we were told that the buses were all full well before that), meaning my bag was not there when I finished and I had to wait ages for my bag to show up in the cold and wet. Another tip would be don't bother with the metro in south shields after the race, it's a long walk from the finish area and they put on extra buses to central Newcastle. Get one of those and then catch the metro back out to where you need to go. I know this all sounds very negative but the race is fantastic and you will have a great time, just a bit of preparation will save you from ending up having everything around the race souring what otherwise would be a great day
@@matthewdukes511 cheers for the advice. I was thinking of getting the most outward Metro (South Hlyton For example) and so even if it takes longer to get in I’m queuing to get onto an empty metro vs one that already has people on it.
For me it's all about getting started early. Whatever time you think is a reasonable time to arrive at a race, arrive 2 hours before that! I aim to get into Newcastle for 8am.

Awesome, and thank you! Glad to have you on board ❤️

That's the power of the GNR! It's such a brilliant race isn't it. So glad to hear you're all signed up already!
Awesome effort Andy, first time here. Thanks for taking us along on your GNR, helps a lot!
Thanks Rick! GNR day is always one of the best of the year!

Nice one mate. Class of 2022?! That drive back is miserable isn't it, I always under estimate the journey by at least an hour!
First time doing it this year, i immediately signed up for a membership when they became available, such an amazing atmosphere even in the pissing rain!
It doesn't even change the mood - even with bad weather. The geordies are all absolutely mad fer it. I already can't wait till next year!
That's really cool that you enjoyed it. Looks like lots of people did.
Well done on time. 🎉
Thanks Kathryn, it was a brilliant day as always!
Well done! This was my second GNR - had a great time despite the rain. It still wasn’t as wet as the Antrim Coast HM two weeks earlier!
Now that one sounds like an interesting day... This year was pretty wet. Well done mate 👏🏻
Brilliant video, Andy. Best race atmosphere I have done. 🎉
Cheers mate - and very well done. I hope that you had a brilliant day ❤️
Awesome mate. We're in again next year so we'll do it all again for a 4th time. Brilliant meeting you and amazing to be in the vlog!⭐
Cheers Deano! Great to see you and is nice to put faces to names now. Hope you both had fun in the rain 🌧

Well done - brilliant work even without an injury as the course and weather were tough. Hope the knee is healing well.👍🏻
@@itsonandyThanks, knee feels ok although haven't ran since GNR due to having COVID. Hoping to get back into running now I'm better!

Saved yourself for a 4:42 for the last kilo, Nice! Enjoyed your Vlog, Nice One.
Cheers Michael, yeah it was a nice feeling to feel like I had a bit more in the tank 😎
