She made the decision not to wear shoes just before her appearance on Norway's Got Talent at 7. Her mom had gotten her a new pair for her audition at 7 yo on NGT and that is when she thought that she wanted to honor the little girl by going on stage barefoot. She also wanted to bring attention to the children that have no shoes and live in poverty. She donated the money she won from NGT to children's charities.
