Love this kernel discussions, I usually don't poke that deep into these machines but getting to know them is half the fun!, congrats on the great video and the research!

Thanks for the comment. Part 3 will close the door on the past and talk about the future and my pet (lower-case intended) project, which is to build and release a full featured memory monitor, trace and debug, and mem load/save utility extensible with plug-ins. You might think of it as a modernization of the original ML monitors for Commodore platforms but well suited for the F256 platform. Also, I intend to provide enough of the original Kernal calls to run most text based C64 programs without modification and I'm talking about a text editor, text adventures, disk track & sector editors with an option to allow banking in of 'apps' Commodore plus/4 style.

I'm only partway through the video, but about the vectors, yes the VIC-20 and C64 are basically identical, but the PET has significantly fewer. I'd have to do some research to get exact numbers, but generally the PET isn't nearly as flexible as the VIC and C64. It also has a smaller KERNAL call table.

Oh yes Robin. One of a dozen or more details that I neglected to follow up on during editing. The full grown PET boasted 15 calls and I believe that was feature packed, considering. And after the 64, Commodore went crazy in more ways than one, Kernal evolution included. Thank you for being here.
