Just a suggestion - read the ingredients on the back of your store brand mayonnaise. I guarantee you will find bad seed oils in that jar and possibly other ingredients that you don't want to eat while following the Keto lifestyle of eating, In addition to the bad seed oils your store brand mayo will have in it because they are using the cheapest oils they can, you'll also find other bad ingredients in "all" cheaper mayos such as sugars you are not going to want to ingest as well as other ingredients that are not desired. At least I sure do not want to eat those! It's worth it to pay more for 'keto approved' mayo OR to make your 'own' mayo which is even better! There are a TON of recipes here on RUclips to make your own healthy mayo out of butter, bacon grease, avocado oil, and many other things, your choice! It's so worth it! Have FUN making it! And enjoy less inflammation caused by the store brand mayo!

whoever decided to make the first chaffle is a genius. So many variations came from that easy recipe and I know I miss being able to have a sandwich or burger like "normal" people. Gets old eating them in lettuce wraps!
thats for sure.......... when i started keto is was just bacon eggs cheese an butter........ now its almond flour pancakes every morning,, chicken tenders wrapped in pork rinds .. yum.. and pizza crust made with pork rinds... i stopped keto 3 times cause of my craving for pizza...... this is time 4 ... even if i do stop keto i will always for the rest of my life eat low carb..

I made this but in the microwave. Texture - very good. ( I think the mayo helps. The microwave made it a little "floppier" than the waffle maker but good enough for a sandwich. Ease of making - The same as all the single serving Keto bread substitutes. Taste - O.K. If you are sensitive to egginess then this may not be for you. ( Perhaps use just egg whites as recommended in another comment.) There are dozens of recipes very similar to this on youtube. What makes this different is the addition of Mayo. The mayo sees to make the bread stick together better than without. This is a keeper. Suggestion: Measure out four servings of dry ingredients with spices and sweetener and keep in a container. Then just measure out 1/4 of mixture - add egg, water, butter and mayo and you're good to go. Save a little time.

Thanks for this. I use 1/4c egg white instead of 1 whole egg and 1/4 tsp sweetener. No eggy taste at all. These are much better than cheese made chaffles. The mayo seems to be the fat in lieu of cheese. Ingenious. I got 2 Dash at Target for $10 each during the holidays - they had an entire rack of them. Guess chaffles are really catching on. I like making 2 at a time. I use your recipe as a base. So versatile. I haven't tried making a 'sweet' desert one yet, but I'm thinking like mini-cake with some diced strawberry & whipped cream.

Yes!! One thing I don’t see people doing is adding seasoning…takes them to a whole nother level. Season with garlic salt or powder and I add some cayenne and jalapeños with cheese for burgers.
what i like about this recipe is that it's not loaded with cheese so i have more options using it. it holds together really well, the texture is smooth and bread-like, and it has a good flavor. in fact, i made myself a chicken sandwich with it today and i was happy! i'm going to try a grilled (or toasted) cheese sandwich with this and see how it goes. thanks!

I don't really mind the cheese but I AM trying to cut out dairy as much as possible because of my psoriasis. So every little place I can remove dairy helps. You are spot on about the texture . It is perfect. I can see this making a good little pizza too.

I've watched a good number of videos making Keto Breads. Most make them way too crispy for my liking. YOURS look like the perfect level of doneness. I'll definitely 👍 use your recipe to try to achieve that same texture and doneness. I'll mostlikely swap out the mayo and choose to use yogurt or cream cheese in its place. I would suggest whipping the egg white ( separating it from the yolk, 1st) until its light and foamy and then mixing the rest of the ingredients together and folding in the egg white at the end and this will help make your waffle even fluffier! I use that type of mixture when I'm making my traditional waffle recipe which always rose higher and lighter!
This looks really good. You should consider making your own mayo. It's very easy and store bought mayos all have corn or canola oil which are nut oils and are essentially anti-keto because they cause inflammation. Olive oil or avocado are my favorites for making mayo at home.

I was skeptical or I didn’t have high expectations… I thought it was another keto Chaffee same of the same but this was a 10 out of 10 the butter flavor is everything in this and it was so fluffy and perfect I will say ti me it’s better than regular bread !!! ❤️❤️❤️
These waffles are in the top 5 of the recipes I've tried so far. Extra plus is that they did not stick to the waffle plates. I guess the added butter helped? Really good texture too.
I use a recipe similar but I use liquid egg whites, (cage free Greenwise from Publix), It says on the egg white label how many spoons equals one whole egg. I think it is 3 tbs...this completely kills the "egginess" taste.
I’m going to try this with mayo. The recipe I’ve been using had cream cheese. I love the texture of white bread Chaffle over the cheese ones and these are less filling too.
@Kube Dog Is Back I use stevia like I use salt. Just a pinch, always part of a meal. Anything u eat will cause an insulin response, aside from just a bit of fat .

i make these but i use a mini pie maker and add mixed seeds and line bottom and top with ham they come out like a muffin get snake on the run love them
mix 1 teaspoon water with 1 teaspoon butter, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, and 3 tablespoons almond flour. Add your choice of spices to taste ( garlic powder, Italian spices). Add 1 tablespoon of keto mayo Add a Pinch of salt and 1/4 teaspoon sweetener. Only makes two, so be carful not to overflow the mini waffle maker
Being that it's Valentines Day I have a waffle maker that makes 4 heart shaped wafffles. Roast some sugar beet and puree and add to the mix for pink colored waffles for your significant other...they'll love it!
you sure can use coconut flour. Instead of using 3 TBSP of Almond Flour use 1 TBSP coconut flour. It has a 3:1 ratio for almond flour vs coconut flour. I hope this helps

A non-keto note - cuz I do have to feed my family! ......I just add good quality Mayo to boiled potatoes....mush them up and it makes the loveliest mashed potatoes you ever tasted! Adding Mayo even works with making instant potatoes!
Pretty much followed the recipe less the options. I used just enough Egg Beaters to wetten (new word?). Made the 2 bun halves in a Dash mini-griddle. Turned out well. Wish dash made a 2 or 4 version like the mini-waffle maker. Burger patty was way to large for the small "chiddle" bun but my pup appreciated the meat trimmings. Lol. Thank you very much.
Yep. That's now my regular go to. Near-daily for chaffles with added almond flour and "Zgum". With a little sugar-free maple syrup, that's what I have for lunch. Got one for my daughter. She or hubby can crank out quick breakfasts for their family (2 kids). They love it. We rarely use our single makers now.

I like to substitute chive flavored cream cheese for the mayo. The chive flavor gives it a delicious flavor and eliminates the eggy taste. I see that some people who use sour cream instead of mayo also add 1/2 tsp of a sweetener such as Truvia or Pyure.
Many people don't do well with soy oil... which is used in many Mayo brands, especially the cheaper brands. Usually for anything cooked I prefer non-veggie oils. Nut or fruit (avocado is perfect). There are problems that come from heating up vegetable oils.
I do not like Chaffles. I don’t like the cheese in it and they are too crispy for sandwiches. This looks perfect. Thank you for such a great recipe. I will be making this for the egg salad I have in the fridge for tomorrow. Again, thank you. I subscribed.
Sorry I never saw this. I haven’t made these ahead yet but I do always freeze my Charles and keto waffles I’m sure they would hold up fine in the freezer. Maybe next time I’ll make just one extra to freeze to test it to make sure

I would suggest whipping the egg white ( separating it from the yolk, 1st) until its light and foamy and then mixing the rest of the ingredients together and folding in the egg white at the end and this will help make your waffle even fluffier! I use that type of mixture when I'm making my traditional waffle recipe which always rose higher and lighter!
This looks really good. You should consider making your own mayo. It's very easy and store bought mayos all have corn or canola oil which are nut oils and are essentially anti-keto because they cause inflammation. Olive oil or avocado are my favorites for making mayo at home.
I agree! As someone who's paranoid of eating raw eggs, I agree 100% that homemade mayo using egg yolks & vinegar, etc., is divine! Try it!

to use just the egg white you do not need to beat them first just use it like normal but leave out the yolk it helps with the eggy taste

I do 1 egg, 2 TBL of carbquik. I use a electric wisk to mix it up really well. Thats a must. No eggy taste. I use the Dash griddle for mine.

These waffles are in the top 5 of the recipes I've tried so far. Extra plus is that they did not stick to the waffle plates. I guess the added butter helped? Really good texture too.

I use a recipe similar but I use liquid egg whites, (cage free Greenwise from Publix), It says on the egg white label how many spoons equals one whole egg. I think it is 3 tbs...this completely kills the "egginess" taste.

@Kube Dog Is Back I use stevia like I use salt. Just a pinch, always part of a meal. Anything u eat will cause an insulin response, aside from just a bit of fat .

mix 1 teaspoon water with 1 teaspoon butter, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, and 3 tablespoons almond flour. Add your choice of spices to taste ( garlic powder, Italian spices).
Add 1 tablespoon of keto mayo
Add a Pinch of salt and 1/4 teaspoon sweetener.
Only makes two, so be carful not to overflow the mini waffle maker

Being that it's Valentines Day I have a waffle maker that makes 4 heart shaped wafffles. Roast some sugar beet and puree and add to the mix for pink colored waffles for your significant other...they'll love it!

Can you use coconut flour instead of almond flour? I have found that almond flour has a gritty taste to me.
you sure can use coconut flour. Instead of using 3 TBSP of Almond Flour use 1 TBSP coconut flour. It has a 3:1 ratio for almond flour vs coconut flour. I hope this helps

A non-keto note - cuz I do have to feed my family! ......I just add good quality Mayo to boiled potatoes....mush them up and it makes the loveliest mashed potatoes you ever tasted! Adding Mayo even works with making instant potatoes!

Pretty much followed the recipe less the options. I used just enough Egg Beaters to wetten (new word?). Made the 2 bun halves in a Dash mini-griddle. Turned out well. Wish dash made a 2 or 4 version like the mini-waffle maker. Burger patty was way to large for the small "chiddle" bun but my pup appreciated the meat trimmings. Lol. Thank you very much.

Yep. That's now my regular go to. Near-daily for chaffles with added almond flour and "Zgum". With a little sugar-free maple syrup, that's what I have for lunch. Got one for my daughter. She or hubby can crank out quick breakfasts for their family (2 kids). They love it. We rarely use our single makers now.

These are Awesome...I used egg whites. Helps with the eggie taste. I like to substitute chive flavored cream cheese for the mayo. The chive flavor gives it a delicious flavor and eliminates the eggy taste. I see that some people who use sour cream instead of mayo also add 1/2 tsp of a sweetener such as Truvia or Pyure.

Many people don't do well with soy oil... which is used in many Mayo brands, especially the cheaper brands.
Usually for anything cooked I prefer non-veggie oils. Nut or fruit (avocado is perfect). There are problems that come from heating up vegetable oils.
Try making your own mayo at home... super easy to do - especially with a small food processor - and tastes worlds better than store bought
Dr Berg has a recipe for keto-friendly mayo, I used avocado oil. It’s easy and tastes great

Sorry I never saw this. I haven’t made these ahead yet but I do always freeze my Charles and keto waffles I’m sure they would hold up fine in the freezer. Maybe next time I’ll make just one extra to freeze to test it to make sure
