Managed a ride on Amberley's 1913 Tillings Stevens Petrol Electric, before it was deemed too fragile and retired to static display in the Southdown Garage on the site. 🙂

Remember catching the 43 to Trent Bridge and hoping it did not come off the wires!

The first time I went to Nottingham was about 1965, I too rode the trolleybus to Trent Bridge.

Electric traction at its best, silent and efficient. Spoiled by that bl***dy taxi making a racket throughout.

The taxi was a bit noisy, but it is about 85 years old, a wonder it was still working, at least new taxis in London are now electric.
