yes lol, i actually wanted to try this because of them
Fentiman's Burdock and Dandelion Beer is one of my favorite drinks! 😋😋
The drink of Kings and Queens and extraordinary and exemplary individuals. The original root beer. Delicious.
Hello my friends from the River Cottage! I absolutely adore Wright's videos and I love your brew videos, Hugh. Would you please upload more of those??
Cheers from Brazil!
Love the garden Hugh ! One day I'll have more garden the grass lol...
Would love to try my hand at this! Where can we find specifics for the recipe? Thanks for the upload and much love to the River Cottage!
i had no idea you could do this, that is awesome! i would definitely love to try someday.
I've made a soft drink dandelion. Burdock being hard to find here now and the one place I did fid it has now had the diggers in. I made the dandelion with lacto ferment from ginger beer. It has a taste akin to Ice Cream Soda.
Love the idea of converting one of my all time favourite childhood drinks into an alcoholic beverage!
It was originally an alcoholic drink but got converted to a soft drink in the Victorian era.
Brilliant 👍
Luv it
Still haven't made any but in August I think I will
And all this time i was weeding the Dandelions.
Whats the taste like brother?
I would like to try it on the spring, so i'm hopping that it will be a great way for making alternative way instead of the classic beer from hobs. :)
Aw mate! This is getting done!
question most videos ive seen for making alcoholic brews require an airtight seal. why do you not use an airtight seal on the fermentation buckets?
nice video thankyou however when I clicked on the link for the poisonous plant that resembles burdock it said page error?
burdock and dandelion grow here in the US too (guess who's fault that is)
I'm waiting for spring to pull some from my parent's place
New video hype! :)
Yay! Success. :))
I've brewed homemade wine many times with great success and love it but have nevr tried a beer before! Would love to try this recipe but how do you get the fizz ... does that happen naturally after bottling??
they add a small amount of sugars right before bottling, and what yeast are left at bottling will ferment the sugars releasing co2 and carbonating it
great video I will be putting dandlion in my next home brew thanks terry
I dont drink alcohol but it is interesting to know about making one :)
their are non alcoholic varieties , mainly in a soda form some are generic taste wise while some are pretty good like "Fentimans"
Actually, it is a little known fact that the temperance movement caused health problems because beer was safer to drink than many sources of water and beer was the main source of B vitamins for the poor.
Felicity Wright Maybe, and I'm not a Cromwellian puritan, but drink does go with domestic abuse, a lot.
It may come in handy one day
Can you make 5 percent beer without adding sugar?
He said baker's yeast, right? Is there a difference between baker' and brewer' yeast?
Miladin Ercegovcevic Yes. They're the same species of yeast - Saccharomyces cerevisiae - but they're different strains which have different properties. Generally, if you try to brew a beer with baker's yeast, it will tend to come out tasting quite strongly of yeast. There are yeast strains that have been bred for all sorts of specific purposes - wines, cider, ales, and of course bread. I'm somewhat surprised that they used baker's yeast over something like an ale yeast, but it seems to have worked out.
I've used baker's yeast to make wine many times. The results are fine. Most fancy strains of wine etc yeasts have been selected partly for a higher tolerance to alcohol and a quick finish to the fermentation but, if you're not in a hurry for your wine to clear and you're happy with a lower alcohol content, baker's yeast is OK for most brewing purposes.
I going to start a business..Dandelion flowers ..ready or not here i come
Any health benefits??
Yes good for your skin good and depression vitamin A and that
5 or 6 of them is enough to make you tipsy, depending on the person of course😂😂
Orange, lemon, treacle? I don't think that was traditional. I think it's supposed to contain pear juice and barley malt extract.

Fortnight - Fourteen nights... two weeks 😂

how do you get the latex out of the dandelion root tho? you really are clueless about this.
ould leave
and take the dirt off the root ffs... just because you pulled it out of the garden doesn't mean you should leave dirt on it, you wouldn't leave dirt on a carrot you intend to consume.
You guys really need to learn how to make good beer first then this will improve your beer... ;) like... don’t use bakers yeast, lol use a quality beer yeast, don’t use sugar, use malt, 2 weeks is not long enough to age any beer, more like 2 months...
