Shola!! Glad to have you back. You're my fave. This will be the fourth recipe that I'll be trying of yours, the flavours are unbelievable!! I can't wait to make this sauce and yam with a side of grilled fish 😋❤️
Ngl this is the easiest recipe ever for this meal . I'm a college student and I can make this instead of spending money on chick FIL a and still study 😅
Hi Shola . Love your elegant style in making the fried yam 👍 Was looking for inspiration & found you my friend 😊 Am into travels & cooking. I 👀 full video👍 for more 🔔
Hey, this is a really nice recipe which I'll be trying out! I just have one question though, after you put the jumbo seasoning in the pepper sauce, how long did you allow it to cook for before eating ? Also, can I also get the exact amount of seasoning you put? From the video it looks like maybe 1 - 3 teaspoons but I just wanted to make sure. Cheers!
ivy I’ve found sometimes when I add salt, if the yam has a bitter flavour that can intensify it & make sure the oil isn’t too hot. Hot oil is the common reason why it comes out bitter, it happens to me sometimes. Hope this helps 🤞🏾
The video was so nice
cant wait to try the recipe though

Peel yams with gloves on, slice pepper without gloves. Legend 😄
Lol 🤣🤣🤣 ikr
Hope you all try this out. What would you have this with, grilled fish maybe?
Thanks girlllllll 👍👍👍👍👍👍
But my question is : soaking the yam over night wouldn’t spoil it??
I keep it on the fridge, it will be totally fine as long as it’s kept cold.
Now you make me want some fried yam..😋
You are something else! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣So so yum 😋 😋 😋
Osei with the yaaaamss
Can u do same for potato
most likely, potato naturally holds more water. You might not have to pour water into the oil, just soak them.
Excellent! Thank you so much I tried your pepper sauce and it was amazing. My Yam always taste bitter, any advice?
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve noticed my yam taste bitter if I fry it too long or it fried at a super high temperature. Hope that helps
Your voice over is everything 😂😂😂❤❤❤
My 2nd fav food😍😍 Weldone Chef🥰🥰
Thank you ☺️
I have the yellow scotch bonnet
You can put oil on your hands as well
I did fried yam and it was bitter , do you know why ? Is there a specific yam to fry ?
Might be the yam, I also find if the oil is too hot the yam becomes bitter, Try a medium heat throughout.
💛💛💛
I shouldn’t be watching this on an empty stomach 😩
Jemima A-L that’s the worst feeling 😩😩
Please try this

Hey, the amount really depends on how you like. I'd always say go easy at first then let it cook for 5-10 mins on medium heat.
How do you not make the yam bitter? I get the bitter taste anytime I fry yam

Thank you so much. Am going try over the weekend.
Did you really add water to hot oil for the yam to be fluffy
Yes, once the oil settles down. Or else the yam becomes hard.
@@afrisianuk OK thank you
Don't we need tomatoes for the sauce?? The one I had at Ikoyi club V.I Lagos..contained tomatoes too.
Does it matter what type of yam you use
I've only ever used puna yam for this.
Oh no why did you stop RUclips? Very nice content you’ve got.
I'll be back soon! in time for Christmas
Wait pouring water in oil
The commentary, oh boi!!
