I was blown away about how much bigger BGC is than any of the bubble areas in Cebu…and nicer too.

It's the energy of the area.. just look at the busy shops , non empty and the mass of people spending money.. not boring with so much activities.

I love BGC. It can hold its own with other best city living cities in the world. For me, it's the safety and cleanliness that I find so appealing with BGC. It's one of the very few places in Manila where I find it safe to walk around with my jewelry on. I love the Greenbelt area in Makati too. Makati gives me a different energy. More of old rich, classic vibe. BGC gives me that modern, millennial vibe. I prefer to live in Makati though. Commute from Makati to BGC is not that bad, so you can enjoy both cities. Forbes Park area would be the perfect place to live, right in the middle of Makati and BGC.

      1) BGC is not actually a city. It's a business district with a fancy name. But go ahead and call it what it is since that is their official registered business name.
      2) BGC is in NOT in Manila. It's in Taguig -- a city on its own 2X the size of Manila. Know your geography.
      3) "Metro Manila" is a region. "Manila" is just one of the many cities in it. They are NOT the same thing. Strictly speaking though, "Metro Manila" is actually an obsolete term. In an effort to clearly distinguish Manila from the rest of the region, "Metro Manila" was renamed as the "NCR" in the year 1978. "NCR" is the term used in modern registration documents esp lease contracts.

@mocabe01 ... "Know your geography"? That's not quite a friendly tone. But thanks for the correction. I appreciate it. Have a great day.

@@mocabe01 ... But it does not mean you can't be nice. Also, to say Manila is acceptable instead of saying Metro Manila. People will understand.

    Metro Manila shows its development.
    Binondo was BGC in 1500-1900s.
    Makati was BGC in 80s
BGC only happened in the early 2000s.

I agree Jasper about BGC being an example of what most of the Philippines could become. BGC could also have more than one meaning, Best Guy's City in addition to Bonificio Global City🤣

Thank you , kabayan, for subtly hinting that BGC is NOT in Manila. It is in Taguig -- a city on its own 2x the size of Manila. Both cities are among the many cities in the Metro Manila region (more accurately, the NCR). With PHL becoming a popular tourist destination, it is right and responsible of us to guide our welcome visitors on correctly identifying the locations they go to. Mabuhay!

They need to expand BGC. I guess they can purchase and occupy the lands & houses around it. It will also be great if they could create a huge park. It would be great to keep the land behind Maybank Auditorium to Serendra as empty and transform it into an open field for different activities.

I was definitely underwhelmed by Cebu City, even the IT Park area. It was okay, but not somewhere I’d want to settle. I’m hoping to come to BGC soon and get a boots on the ground feel for it. Bohol and Boracay were actually both interesting places to consider settling in, but I’d prefer to start in a more urban area like BGC.

BGC is nice but the old classic rich vibe of Makati always gets me. Makati's CBD area is like BGC but there are authentic alleyways and spots where you can taste the real authentic Filipino vibe. This old charm is absent in BGC because anywhere you go it's manicured and feels artificial at times.

Meh. Not for me. I lived in Bangkok for a year. I need a break and change in scenery when I move to Philippines in July. I'm the minority, but I actually like Cebu better than BGC. Don't get me wrong, BGC is nice, but I couldn't live there...only visit for like a week.
