what in the world this is so beautiful
I was lucky to see perform this live in Berlin, under a light rain. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. What an outstanding human being.

If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, it would be this one.
I recently saw Glen Hansard sing this song live in concert. He puts his whole soul into every second of this song. It is absolutely one of my favorite songs, from any artist, any genre, any generation. This is what true songwriting is at its very best. I love this music.
I just found your comment and at first I thought it's too old, but 7 years ago is also the only time I saw Glen live. How time passes, it feels like 2-3 years ago. I have so many strong memories from that concert in Antwerp.
I wanted to say it's not only this song, Glen Hansard is one of those artists who pour every bit of their souls in their performances. There was not a single moment during the concert that he (and the band) were not fully committed. In terms of musical performance, appreciation for the audience, and most importantly, raw emotion in every lyric.

just saw Glen perform last week in Philly....when he did this song you could hear a pin drop in the venue....such a powerful song that captured everyone in the room!

Rarely does an artist come along who evokes such incredible emotion. I stumbled on Hansard and have found myself listening to all of his performances with amazement. An incredible and rare artist.
Glen wrote this for his Mom from her perspective...because he grew up seeing his parents fight and it was a struggle. Amazing song and performance.

One of the most emotional pieces of music you'll ever hear. Far more intelligent that the regular 'chart' music we have at the moment. I feel blessed to have the privilege of listening to the album on a nightly basis.
Even though this song brings me to tears; it heals me in some way. His voice sheds a light on the broken side of my heart. I've learned to let it go but like the long day it lasts and every hour, every minute, every second...it seriously takes forever. It's amazing how a song can do this to you. I don't know how to even begin to explain my massive love for Glen.
