I adore Shalimar edp but never smelled the edt. Must try it. My husband don't like the leather aspect of the perfume and I must try the edt one without the leather. Civet is one note I adore on perfumes. In fact it's present in all of my favorite perfumes. Nowadays of course it's created in lab and no animal should suffer for our pleasure. But older formulas might use the real deal and it's much more pungent. I love that smell, now they are synthetic and for me it's ok. If I came across a vintage formula of any perfume I will buy it. Current formulas no because now we know better. Enjoy your treasures 😊 Big hug ❤
Hi Ana. You need someone to take you mushroom hunting and show you what you can pick and what you can’t. Another good piece of advice is only to pick the mushrooms you can identify with 100% certainty. If you’re unsure what it is, don’t pick it. I like both real and synthetic civet in perfumes; I don’t think the synthetic civetone used as a replacement is bad, but it isn’t as rich which isn’t always a bad thing. Civet adds an oily warmth to scents, and vintage No. 5 Parfum is definitely animalic. I’m not actively hunting for vintage formulas, but sometimes it just happens - you find a deal that’s too good to pass up. Have a good rest of the evening!🙂🧡

I, too, find it comforting, especially the Body Satinee at bedtime....And Shalimar has been a family favorite for decades...Years ago, when visiting Vienna, my beloved Grandmother bought a bottle for me. ❤️

Loved seeing your scenic walk in the woods, your scrumptious salad and adorable coffee mug. 🍂 I used to go hunting for morel mushrooms with my grandpa when I was a kid. Great memories. 😊 I too prefer the edt of Shalimar. A lot softer and the leather is toned down SO much. Fantastic find with the vintage Chanel pure parfum. I’ve never smelled it but I own and appreciate No 5 and a couple of flankers. Looking forward to your dedicated reviews as always. ❤

I own the No5 100ml EDP, but use it sparingly. 🤗 Plus Shalimar O'la la very sexy fragrance for me, I have the Souffle version too, bit lighter for our warm weather ⛱🌤 You won't believe me when I say I have never eaten a chestnut!! 😂 Do you eat them just like that in your hand? Or do you have to prepare them somehow? I haven't tried Chanel NO 5 and I have purchesed Shalimar ,right now I don't remember if it's the EDT or the EDP but I like it .I don't know if I can wear it,I find it quite strong as well as Youth Dew which I find nice but I can't wear . What a beautiful place! I loved seeing it, and your bounty. I love roasted, salted chestnuts. We always had them on New Year’s Eve. I haven’t had them in years. How do you cook the mushrooms? I sauté in butter with onions, salt and pepper. Excellent on steak. 😋 I’m also finding Shalimar edp a little difficult these days. I’m interested in an edt experience. 😂 I confess that I have no idea how No.5 smells in any form. I’ll try to remedy that soon. In all honesty, I prefer penny buns or cultivated mushrooms to the kind we were picking yesterday, but a nice creamy mushroom sauce goes well with steak. I think you’ll love the EdT. I got mine 5 years ago and love it. Apparently is the closest to the original Shalimar.
I have and love Shalimar Cologne (2015) not to be confused with the Eau de Cologne. Shalimar Cologne is very citrusy which i adore, with lots of lemon but still has Shalimar DNA. Lovely video 😊
i have a few vintages of no 5 in various states! sometimes you do get lucky with an open bottle; i was able to find a 30ml from the 40s in a shop that smelled incredible. it’s still my favorite of the 5 extrait bottles i have. i don’t understand how someone could not like the extrait but different strokes i guess! another of my favorites is from the 60s or 70s and is an american “new york distributor” bottle that is similarly divine. i like the modern extrait but find it super heavy in the ylang. thanks for sharing!
That’s so interesting. I’m scared to buy opened bottles to be honest so I’m glad mine was sealed - smells absolutely divine. Yes, I actually noticed the same thing. The modern EdP (and as you say extrait as well) is very heavy on ylang ylang. Thanks for watching.🙂✨
I actually have the Shalimar EDC. While it’s not the longest lasting concentration it DOES still have the leather note the EDP does, but much softer. So you get that beautiful vanillic powdery amber but with a soft and modern leather note.
That’s exactly what the EdT smells like, with the leather either in the background or not present at all. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest; it’s so powdery and comforting. Thanks for watching! 🙂✨

Chanel No.5 is indeed super glamorous. Shiseido Zen? I’ve only tried the new version that smells like Coco Mademoiselle. 🙂
The perfume is the only Chanel nr.5 I like, so much better than the edp or the edt, much smoother and less soapy

How do you know that No5 isn’t fake ?
No one fakes vintage 7ml bottles of pure perfume. All the details check out; it was sealed, and it smells amazing. Fakers wouldn't go to such lengths.
