    Paul, fantastic looking flies! I appreciate your generosity in sharing some awesome patterns and techniques. You are without question one of the best tyers on RUclips. Love your approach to fly design, and I can definitely relate to how often you like tying Bulkheads--they and Hollows are really addictive for me! Thanks again!

    I'm a first timer on your channel as well, and have subscribed as I found your teachings to be very good. You're one of the few that don't go 200km an hour when explaining the steps. Thank you and keep up what you're doing! :)

    Excellent pattern. Almost looks articulated. Would work fantastic in shallow, weedy shoreline waters. Thanks for the tutorial Paul!👍

    Thanks Paul! I have Bob's book "Fleye Design" and have tied a number of his patterns so I can see how you have changed the way you control the flaring of the bucktail. Nice approach - will be adding your technique to my bag of (fly tying) tricks! Subbed and liked! ATB. Hank

    Hi Paul
    Love your work!
    For the head could you use a suitable marabou feather instead of the fuzzy fiber?
    Thanks

    Hello and congratz for this remarquable tie ! I've been quite shocked by the length of that white bucktaik ! Which brand or model are you using ? I could benefit from those fibers that's for sure ! Thanks for your time, you are really inspiring for a beginner tyer like me

      Nothing special in these, just some 3/4" bucktails I picked up from Bigstreamers.com and NordicAnglers. Length isn't important for these. Some curl and air in the mid to base hair is better to create the BULKhead

    Just come across your channel. Amazing stuff. Just wondered if you have had any experience with Dobb Daddy lures and if you would be up for tying a few a filming it. Cheers Julian

      I don't tend to tie flies up to used with lure rods. Have a look on Kanalgratis channel as sure Nik Bauer did a vid a few years ago about them

    Hey Paul, are you going to tie that beast variation of this? I tie them, but it's more fun to watch you do it. ;)

    Hey Paul, would the larger version be kind of like the Big Nyat but with a the bulk head design? Love your bulkheads!

    • @paul_monaghan
      @paul_monaghan  3 года назад +1

      Both are hollow bucktails, just different at the head. This is more round which achieves more movement in the tail
