- In select theaters December 22.
From director Andrew Haigh. One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
Cast: Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy

This scene is actually so much more heartbreaking having watched the whole movie :(
😢
Totally agree. Heartbreaking really
I’m still crying 24 hours on!! It’s a stunningly, beautiful film that resonates with me as I grew up gay in the 1980’s
My thoughts exactly
@@prbsnoop1974same here. While I think anyone of any age can appreciate and love this movie, it REALLY hits the 80’s gay kids spot on.
The rational part of my brain says if a total stranger showed up at my door flirting and asking to come inside.... it'd be a big NOPE and I'd lock the door immediately. The realistic part of my brain knows if Paul Mescal showed up at my door, I'd probably let him in before he even asked.
And please say NOPE to this boring movie.
@@binkytubejust because you’re subway surfers-brained doesn’t mean we all are. this film is beautiful
Calm your panties, Lady Cream.@@clam6254
@@binkytubeI was riveted. There weren't enough explosions for you?
English, please. @@clam6254
rewatching this scene after seeing the film in theaters yesterday. Paul's last line here, "there's vampires at my door..." has SO MUCH MORE meaning, now.
Way to ruin it for everyone. The vampire massacre scene at the football match is going to be so less impactful when you know in advance ;)
@@patrickmcardle1920 DJWKNFİWKFNEONG
Now understanding the subtext of this scene, rewatching it makes me appreciate Mescal’s acting even more. Amazing choices.
The ending retroactively makes this season so heartbreaking
Absolutely gutted that this film did not receive a single Oscar nomination. Especially for Andrew Scott. He literally carries the entire film on his shoulders and goes through every single emotion known to humankind.
I KNOW!!!!
He was so good. I don't know who the nominees are but his performance was nomination worthy for sure.
I think it came out too late for submission actually
I'm the "I needed to rewatch this scene after seeing the movie" button.
Paul and Andrew’s chemistry is amazing! I need to watch this film so bad!
Word. Ditto.
This scene cuts real deep when we are hit by the revelation at the end of this movie.
To all the people who are alone out there , I am like you , been there done that, in the end stay strong, we all are gonna live max of 100 years after that we will be dead for a billion years anyways. ❤
"there's vampires at my door" 😭💔
what does that mean?
@904 It’s a reference to “The Power of Love” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood (an English pop band with a gay singer). One of the lyrics is “I'll protect you from the hooded claw. Keep the vampires from your door”. Andrew was listening to it before Paul showed up, bu I also think Paul is trying to be cute about not wanting to go back to his apartment alone and wants to be with Andrew.
@@sehar7904 it's a reference to the song andrew's character is listening to at the start of this scene. ultimately devastating when you watch the film.
@@VeachieVeachie you are EVERYTHING thanks!🙏
@@VeachieI think it has a double meaning. It's also metaphoric that there's a threat waiting for him in his apartment, ie his depression. It's implied in the movie that he kills himself very shortly after this scene
I was screaming at Adam to let him in in my head in the cinema lol
I'll protect you from the hooded claw. Keep the vampires from your door.
❤💔😭
can this movie come out already
This movie is officially taking longer to come out than i did. PLEASEEEEE
Wait until you see it: you'll say it's taking too long to end!
After watching the whole movie, I feel guilty when I see this scene again. 😢
I can't wait to watch this movie. So many talented actors and a very promising storyline.
I cant see Paul’s mouth saying “do i scare you” but he does say it but still he’s breathing out that sentence and why am i thinking of it this much
In what world does someone say no to Paul Mescal lol
A world having hot priest such as Andrew Scott.
A Lesbian Woman or Heterosexual Man I suppose.
I'm a masochist for rewatching this scene after watching the movie.
My god this movie wrecked me!!! 😭
Masterpiece
So beautiful
dont want to wait until end of january for this!
I hope it gets released on streaming sites before that because I can’t physically wait any longer
@@annatoodoo4677 we'll have to suffer. I don't know why they are releasing so much PR content a month before.
LET HIM IN!!!!!!!!
IIVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHHHHHHHS CAN THIS MOVIE COME OUT ALREADYYYY
SIR CALM DOWNNN
This movie was so good that I'm still aching from watching it last night. 💔
So highly recommended, this should have been Oscar material
:44 my man, you are EVERYONE'S type. Stahp it. This looks so good though.
Perfect couple for this movie.
Wow. No spoiler alert here. It was a love ghosts story right from the beginning when the fire alarms went off. Wow im still getting the chill down on back. Brilliant editing
...bravo adaptations from a Japanese horror movie. 10/10.
Do i scare you??? Uhm yess bye.
Anywa, Paul Mescal? Yes come in!!!! 😂
God this is so heartbreaking
i am living for every content that they give to me
Paul Mescal seems like he got accidentally dropped into modern time
Is that a good thing?
@@bettybreeze78yes
@@bettybreeze78 it’s a really good thing if you’re an actor.
He's a great actor, but this film is a big misstep. It's way too long and boring.
@@binkytube but the reviews are amazing for it even if you don’t like it
he needs to be outside my door
He needs to be inside my door.
whyyyyy was the release date supposedly today but none of the theaters near me are showing it?! 😭
Right??!! So annoying
@@christinan5382 it’s driving me crazy!
omg the earing, The EARING
Where can I watch it😭😭 it's not in my theaters nor on streaming platforms??
Comes out on hulu on February 22nd.
@@shannmaddox1836 I watched it and it's so saddd😭😭💔
The miracle club is a scary movie from Columbia searchlight pictures.
Hey, I'm argentinian and I'm so confused about that last line "THERE'S VAMPIRES AT MY DOOR". Isn't it supposed to say "There ARE vampires at my door"?? O.o
Grammatically, yes, it should be "there are," but a lot of people will still use "there's" in common talk when it shouldn't be. For example, someone might say "there's a lot of people here," even though it should technically be "there are a lot of people here."
@@SweetieCartoons THANK YOU!!! Thanks for your replay! I was dying to know!
Watched this in theatres. This was both scary and hot 😊😂😨
Okay I just watched the film and what an ending. Damn but they were happy.. 😭
Okay Mescal was cute in the beginning then he put his face way too close to the door frame with weird voice that creeped me out lol
This movie has the tropes: Bury Your Gays and Manic Pixie Dream girl (but it’s a dream boy).
What's last line that the Paul Mescal character whispered ? I couldn't hear what he said.
"There's vampires at my door." It's a reference to the Frankie Goes to Hollywood song "The Power of Love", which Andrew Scott's character is listening to at the beginning of the scene and which ties into the ending of the film.
@@AngelofMusic04 Thank you.
Captions please
Trust me, you don't need captions for the other American accent guy who is SUPPOSED to be an ENGLISH couple's son!
Can't you tell an IRISH accent from an American one? Honestly... 😞@@binkytube
Honestly, no. because he mumbles through most of his lines.@@treesny
If I got rejected after pulling that sexy and corny "There's vampires at my door" I would probably killed myself too because of the cringe
It looks depressing and unrealistic. Showing up at a stranger's place just like that?
I still cant get over the fact Harry (Paul Mescal) dies. So sad.
I have watched it but why spoil the movie like that for others 😢
@@Henry-dz7vg idk I went in knowing that he died and it still devastated me.
Yeah you do. You actually have been dead the whole time.
This film scared me to sleep. It was way too long and boring. AND PLEASE, tell me why does an ENGLISH couple have a son who speaks the entire movie with a MIDWEST/AMERICAN accent??
For the millionth time -- since you have posted your nonsensical statement multiple times -- Andrew Scott (Adam) has an IRISH accent. His character spent much of his early life in Dublin, as is made clear in the film. And for the record, it's a wonderful film.
You've answered me with the same answer over and over. I obviously can't compete with an Andrew Scott stan. You're like a Swifty. Lol@@treesny
dude that's Irish accent. both Paul and Andrew are Irish.
Read the comments,derp.@@xhy2160
I would never discribe this movie as boring. it holds so much meaning, maybe you dont relate? it's a beautiful film really
