Very nice tutorial! I did my military service as a crew chief on the AJ37 Viggen. Fun fact about ground power. The Viggen was normally always hooked up to ground power and airsupply. When the engine started and the generator came online, it discarded the air/electrical power hose automatically. 😊 So, in real life, the pilot never had to ask for this. I wish DCS could simulate this…
Night and day. MSFS is arcade-like by comparison, though that is my personal opinion. They aim for different markets and features. If you want a full on study sim for a fighter, DCS. If you want to fly anywhere in the world and sight see - MSFS.
Glad you're enjoying it! It will be a little wait for the weapons tutorials but we'll get there. A lot of time was sunk into a cohesive format for the whole series so ideally the rest shouldn't take forever to do.
this is one of, if not the most in-depth Viggen introduction on RUclips. Well done sir! I like teaching vids like this a lot more than many of those 3 min long tutorials. I would not have known what 9099 actually means if not for this video. Thank you sir!
I believe that your reference location in your KB checklist for the oxygen switch and the Kontroll switch are wrong. Also, I have taken your advice and will not be using my overly complicated HOTAS command cheat sheet and will be using your diagram with a few little changes. Great video.
Made DCS content before I started SC content. The new Viggen tutorials are a slow grind of a work in progress but Takeoff will be coming start of Feb I hope!
@@Leadnap Well thank you for taking the time to do both. You are my go to source for information in SC, and having recently picked up DCS, it was a pleasant surprise to see you in this space too. Thanks for the content, look forward to seeing more Viggen videos!
I’m glad. Hopefully these new versions shed light on things for you I didn’t cover well in the past. Glad you’ve picked her up though and have enjoyed them so far! Thanks for watching.
@@Leadnap You're the RUclips Viggen guru. After a month of studying... I find what is missing on RUclips is an up to date and more thorough tutorial on the ELINT/jamming pod and any tips on dialing in QFE when not available on kneeboard or the F10 map. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Thanks, I hope to have a new one coming out this month. As soon as basics (t/o, nav, landing) are done we're rolling into Weapons. What systems are you struggling with? Might be able to do some prioritization in the planning

Thanks for sharing! That is very cool that it auto-disconnects. I will try to reach out to HB and see if we can't get that modeled correctly!
@@Leadnap that would be so cool!!
FANTASTIC Video. I just got the viggen today and chucks guide was, well, it's chucks guide...
Keep thinking about getting into DCS, I’ve got sticks and pedals now.
This tutorial is just too perfect! Thank you! :D
This needs more views and more 👍
Great tutorial :)
Thanks for the tutorial!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Flight sims have come a long way since "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" and Dynamix's "Aces over Europe"
Oh man I forgot all about Aces over Europe. Good times.
How would DCS compare to Flight Sim? It seems to have some similar levels of realism (when adjusting for date of creation)

how tf do i change the pitch trim :()
You're back! Missed your DCS stuff, always stuck out as extremely clear. Very calming too. Can't wait for the weapons tutorials as well.

Great tutorial Lead.

Good job.

Incredibly well done tutorial . I will see your other vids 👍
While I don't play DCS, these videos seem to be very thorough.
Thanks! They’re a lot of work to put together
Best tutorial I’ve seen so far.
Oh shit! You make DCS content too?! YAAAY!

Your Viggen videos have been extremely helpful. I think it's the module I've picked up the fastest because of your tutorials. Cheers!

I deeply love "course carrot" XD
Such a detailes sim... I wish I had that thing during the 90ies when I was quick enough for such games... ;-)
There's days I am convinced DCS is easier to learn than Star Citizen... which med pen do I use?
very nice tutorial, please keep making them, the most difficulty i have is in the use of weapons.

@@Leadnap Actually ,all the weapons. The procedure for using them, really confuses me , as i am used to aircraft like the f- 18.
I'm always impressed by the realism of these simulators.
We live in an awesome time right?!
Interesting stuff!
Glad you think so!
