Love the Lakes. I prefer Keswick - good on market days. Have always felt Ambleside is too busy with traffic. Went to the Lakes for a holiday in June and went to the Bluebird Cafe at Coniston - not cheap but amazing views out onto the lake so it’s a lovely setting. Got to love a visit to Tebay 😋. Thanks for the great videos. Xx

What the heck was that moment with the blue car? Looked like you were racing. ha ha
Pete took me to the Lake District in 1997, on my second trip to the UK 😍
I so miss that kind of weather. Reminds me of home (Seattle)
Those sausages look DIVINE. I'm just a girl.... who loves a nice plump sausage....
Best sausage I ever had was a Gloucester Old Spot in Bourton on the Water.
Thank you for wearing the microphones! I might be the only one who needs it (sorry) but it helps a lot!
Pete likes the custard skin too! They should make custard skin snacks that are on a sheet of plastic, like fruit rollups. LOL
Awww, there are items for dogs on the menu!
Is there a Lake District regional accent?
    The Priest Hole? What? 🤣🤣🤣
Those sausage rolls looked gorgeous. Why are you guys constantly biting into things that are too hot?? LOL

Oh the blue car … we came off a 2 lane road onto a 2 lane roundabout & the exit was 1 lane so Colin had to speed up because the blue car didn’t want to slow down 🙈🙈 did you hear me squeal 🤣
It was a miserable day for a day out …😢
The sausages where mushy 🤔 not good
Haha they must of been good if you remember them that well 😂😂
You’re welcome 😇 we need reminding to wear them .. we are amateurs 😂😂
The custard rolls are a great idea Colin said 😂😂😂
Not sure of the accent… haha 😂 the priest hole 😂 sounds funny .. but was an actual serious thing where catholic priests would hide , during the persecution 😢😢
Them sausage rolls are just so fabulous - they make you want to bite them 😂😂😂

Thanks so much for this enjoyable vlog guys. Must try Colin’s Corbagine cake but who sells it 😂😂😂😂😂. Motorway food deffo better than these fancy early closing establishments. Oh and Tracy, I remember the beech nut machines on the wall, cannot remember what coin went in but sometimes when I put the money in and turned the handle 2 packets of 6 chews would come out. Thanks again guys . You gave us a good idea what problems you have with that food coming out all together 😊😊😊

I can't believe Colin didn't take a coat with him on a trip to The Lakes 🤣🤣. That first place was expensive. Over £10 for breakfast which had no tomato's, no black pudding, no mushrooms and an additional charge if you wanted bacon, wowser 😳. As for the Kendal mint cake, the chocolate covered is the only one i would buy although i am not really a fan of it.

I think that you should have politely asked for them to take the apple pie back, save and serve it after your main meal. That’s the norm surely x

    • @TracyandColinTheFoodies
      @TracyandColinTheFoodies  10 месяцев назад +1

Colin was told at the till that everything will come together - he’d already paid at that point , but if the lady taking the order had of told him that before he paid he would’ve just ordered the food , then gone back up to order dessert - which obviously would’ve been better 😂 … can’t understand it myself 🤔🤔

Hi Tracy and Colin. Really enjoyed this trip to the Lake District. Ambleside is beautiful shame it was overcast for you. That apple pie cafe was a bit of a let down though. I’ve never heard of your pudding being served with your main dish! Also, to close eating places at five o’clock is ridiculous. Most people eat their evening meal after five, so that means going to a pub to see if you can get food there. Perhaps they should alter their opening hours for the holiday season.
We’ve been to Teebay services and agree with you the food is really nice there. If we stop off there again, must remember to get some sausage rolls.xx

    • @TracyandColinTheFoodies

Hi Kath, yes it’s a beautiful place ❤️ we agree it was a bit odd , everything coming at once .. them closing at 5 .. it’s so strange !! Every holiday place in the world is open way into the evening and accommodates tourists .. I think it’s a great idea to alter the opening times seasonally .. the best chippy there isnt open on a Monday & Tuesday either …? It’s crazy 😜
Oh we love tebay .. definitely get a sausage roll too ❤️❤️ xx

Wow what an expensive place ! I know it’s the Lakes and they can cash in on tourism but that’s ridiculous. Also, considering they pride themselves on their apple pie, hence the name, only for you to say it’s ok is a bit of a let down don’t you think. Great video tho as usual as I’ve never been to the Lake District x

Hi Tracy and Colin. A great and picturesque part of the country. The place you had lunch looked great, let down by the odd habit of serving everything at once, lukewarm chips and 'mushy' Cumberland sausages- which tasted ok- thankfully.
The apple pie was a poor effort and portion for £5:00 but kudos to Colin and the custard. 😃
On to Tebay services, with it's reputation. The cakes were great corbergine anyone? 😂 (I wish I'd said that) This and the carrot cake looked moist.
You loved the very hot sausage roll. 😋 Tracy would wait until it cooled.
Great places and fab food (Some of it) We loved this vlog, thanks.

Hi Tracy and Colin. Yes a lovely place but I can understand you feeling let down by the cafe. Yes whoever heard of all the oder being brought to the table at once? @@TracyandColinTheFoodies 🤔 The price, way over, the ingredients for an apple pie aren't exactly expensive.
Tebay was a very different place. The cakes and those sausage rolls, wow! 😋 Yes I wonder if that new fangled corbergine will catch on? 😂😂
