Interesting plays! 1. Fumblerooski is now specifically forbidden by rule, which is why we don't see it any more. 5. Penalty Trick play is called out in "Unfair acts" provisions of the rule book, so that play is gone now. 7. Wrong Ball is also in that same "Unfair Acts" section. Both #5 and #7 are covered is specific case play I've seen several Hook and Ladders in my career (26 years). Seen a couple of Statue of Liberty plays. Those are harder to officiate, because you need to really know where the ball is before you blow the whistle. We get tricked, too. Statue of Liberty is essentially the basis for the Wedge offense. Never seen a successful swinging gate, but I've seen a few attempts.
@0tni3lMndZz You need to re-watch it a few times to see everything. what happened was the center just held onto the ball for a few seconds, then dropped it. A ball fumbled in the backfield is still in play and can be picked up and ran. A player picked the ball up and ran for six.
The beauty of that fumblerooski is that it was by Nebraska during the 1984 Orange Bowl. That's big time football take a big time gamble making Miami look like big time chumps.
we ran the muddle huddle once but there was a quarterback behind the center in shotgun(me) and the rest of the team was out on the side and i wud do a swing pass then go out for a route... awesome play
this is the dead mans pass. thumbs up so everyone can see: all the offensive linemen except for the center were standing up, making it seem like they werent ready. the center snapped the ball and the quarterback dropped back all calm like making it seem like it was a practice snap, you know, so the quarterback and center can get a good feel/prepare for the actual play, EXCEPT the original snap wasnt a practice snap, it was a live play, so the receiver and the db were 1 on 1 and the db got burnt.
my high school perfect at the hook and ladder... we run curl routes with a post or flag route behind it.. we usually did it in the 4th quarter when the other team was tired
HAHA 0:44... *Coach calls timeout* In the timeout huddle, they get set qb runs and go pitch the ball back to the rb while the defense is thinking they're still using their timeout... haha good one
It is now illegal but not for the reasons you're thinking it is no longer allowed to fumble the ball intentionally. But then all that happened before this rule. The quarterback took the snap dropped it and ran pulling most of the Defense away while the right guard proceeded to scoop and run the ball with the 1 hb and 4 lineman as blockers
there is a "quick snap" rule, but I guess that would be decided on what a "quick snap" is by the ref? "The snap must be a quick and continuous movement of the ball by one or both hands of the snapper, and the ball must leave the snapper's hands."
HEY, the play you are going the Statue of Liberty is the Bumarooski (named after Bum Phillips)....the statue of liberty looks like a pass the bumarooski is the running back gets the ball between his legs behind the tackle.
@DanDanThe1ceCreamMan for a legal formation, a team cannot have more than 4 man in the backfield (old rule was less than 7 man on LOS) it doesn´t matter where the snapper is aligned, he can bean eligible receiver if you want to.
only the center, qb and receiver on the sideline got into formation. everyone else just leisurely stood around, so the defense wasnt aware that the play had even begun. Pearland High School 2011 Texas State Championship
@haloskog lol. He didn't "give" it to him. It's called the fumblerooski for a reason. How can you know enough about football to know that you can't get the ball on a direct handoff to an offensive lineman, and not know about the fumblerooskie?
In a typical SoL, the QB fakes throwing to a receiver one way, then does a behind-the-back hand-off to a runner going the other way. The clip here didn't look like a SoL play.
@xxxxStarmanxxxx When the quarterback throws a ball behind him and the pass is incomplete it is a fumble so the reciver picked it up and threw it to the other reciver
Yes, you are. I'm more confused as to why the defense wasn't matching them. It almost seems like the offense did a quick start, which I wouldn't think would be legal.
LOL! How did that one even work? There couldn't have been a whistle blown or any flags thrown??? The defense should be trained that the moment you see the ball move, you attack... That's too funny!
could you imagine if soccer players played football? the game would never finish because they would just keep rolling on the floor pretending they are hurt.
because in higher levels theyve already seen all of those trick plays and i mean if u were in the NFL and a guy just randomly picks up the ball and starts running WHAT WOULD U THINK TO DO?! BOOM
Id like to see a wrong ball trick play when it gets blown up by an outside linebacker that didnt fall for it. Instead, he goes full speed and nails the QB, loses the ball, and its recovered for a touchdown
The offense made it look as if they were getting a play called in from the sideline and not ready to start the play. Defense felt no need to line up yet .....center snaps the ball, therego live play. One on one coverage with no rushing the QB. Smart but cheap, lol.
i don't like the wrong ball play its illegal the ball wasn't snapped the center picked it up turned around and handed it to the qb.............and the Statue of Liberty play isn't a Statue of Liberty play its a delay the rb is handed the ball and runs after 1 or 2 sec a Statue of Liberty is a fake pass from l.o.s (not a pump fake) then the ball is handed off or the qb can run the ball or throw a pass
Interesting plays!

@haloskog That play is legal. The center dropped it on the ground making it to where everyone can pick it up. (It was behind the line of scrimmage.)
Zawazuki;
Great video! I am going to use this for an Incredible project I am doing. I will let you know when I am finished.
Thanks
The beauty of that fumblerooski is that it was by Nebraska during the 1984 Orange Bowl. That's big time football take a big time gamble making Miami look like big time chumps.
This videos sick.No reason it shouldn't have more views.
we ran the muddle huddle once but there was a quarterback behind the center in shotgun(me) and the rest of the team was out on the side and i wud do a swing pass then go out for a route... awesome play
I love it when they trick out the cameraman. Always makes me laugh.

The dead man one was sweet
1:25 is beast
the penalty trick play is sick

Left you a like. New friend here dropping that mega like for you 🔥
love the penalty trick play
HEY, the play you are going the Statue of Liberty is the Bumarooski (named after Bum Phillips)....the statue of liberty looks like a pass the bumarooski is the running back gets the ball between his legs behind the tackle.
those moves was fresh

hahaha i love the wrong ball one...mad skillz bro...hha
yupp love them oilers!! live in pearland
only the center, qb and receiver on the sideline got into formation. everyone else just leisurely stood around, so the defense wasnt aware that the play had even begun. Pearland High School 2011 Texas State Championship

That was awesome
that was awesome
I. Love. Trick. Plays
I sometimes wonder why teams don't use that Hook and Ladder move more often.
Swinging gate is the play my team starts out on in our PAT. Never messed it up
In a typical SoL, the QB fakes throwing to a receiver one way, then does a behind-the-back hand-off to a runner going the other way.
The clip here didn't look like a SoL play.
the swinging gate video was capital high school? that where i play ball
The "I need a new ball" plays are illegal plays. Have been for like 7+ years.
Teams are not following official rule books if they do them.
@xxxxStarmanxxxx When the quarterback throws a ball behind him and the pass is incomplete it is a fumble so the reciver picked it up and threw it to the other reciver
hook and ladder is cool we used it a lot but my shit as recivers couldn't catch the pitch
LOL the wrong ball was super cute....
When I watch a video like this, I am reminded of the fact that I know nothing about this sport. What the hell was going on??
The play at 0:41 are you allowed to have everybody on one side of the ball?
Yes, you are.
I'm more confused as to why the defense wasn't matching them. It almost seems like the offense did a quick start, which I wouldn't think would be legal.
LOL! How did that one even work? There couldn't have been a whistle blown or any flags thrown??? The defense should be trained that the moment you see the ball move, you attack... That's too funny!
lmao i replayed 1:22 over and over again haha!
@haloskog its called a fumble rueski.
trick play ROCKS
Haha beast!
1:15 TCU forced 40 TO's last season
How is the swinging gate a legal formation?
how does the dead man play work? why doesnt the defense just tackle them
What happened on the "sideline pass"???
Nice plays! However, little league trick plays were cheap
could you imagine if soccer players played football? the game would never finish because they would just keep rolling on the floor pretending they are hurt.
I am not sure about "statue of liberty" this version of it looks more of a classic reverse than the statue of liberty
No, technically the first one was a lateral since it went backwards.
haha look at 1:45 it looks like hes getting beat up :)
This play is called the annexation of puerto rico from the little giants
They snapped the ball but noone moved except one reciever, so the defense didnt realize the ball was snapped.
I don't get what happened on the dead man
because in higher levels theyve already seen all of those trick plays and i mean if u were in the NFL and a guy just randomly picks up the ball and starts running WHAT WOULD U THINK TO DO?! BOOM
Nimitz does this trick play lolol the last one
I can do that, hold my beer.
what song is this?
Id like to see a wrong ball trick play when it gets blown up by an outside linebacker that didnt fall for it. Instead, he goes full speed and nails the QB, loses the ball, and its recovered for a touchdown
Lol 5 he hurt the kid!😹
where's the Flea Flicker?
isnt the wrong ball play illegal now
its a play called the fumblerooskie
Damn, where you got the videos from, a 1980's beta max? Quality horrible!!!
What do you want a pro camera it’s from 8 years ago
No, it doesnt. The center can give the ball to the quarterback any way he wants, just as long as the ball goes backward
0:29:0:31 Tore his MCL.
1:45 he shoulder bump and like nails the guy
The swinging gate
These plays are all legal?
as soon as the football is lifted off the ground, the play is off. doesnt matter what they do with it
Then how come you don't see it at any higher levels
Kyle Pickens because NCAA/NFL players know the rules of the snap. Not 11 year old kids
+Adawg58 yep they don't know any 11 year olds they just know the rules of the snap.
are these legal
my school has 1 its called center sneak the center snaps the ball and after it touches z QBs hands z center tkaes the ball and runs
the penalty trick play is illigal because you cant snap the ball straight up like that
All the kids plays are so bush league. They probably started some fights in the stands
The offense made it look as if they were getting a play called in from the sideline and not ready to start the play. Defense felt no need to line up yet .....center snaps the ball, therego live play. One on one coverage with no rushing the QB. Smart but cheap, lol.
I watched the first one ten times but still didn't get it
Someday someone is gonna get knocked the fuck out with that wrong ball trick
WRONG BALL is also a penalty.
Hook and lateral
in the junior league they dont allow tricks
Some are clever some are shady.
I don't even know why half of these were called what they were called.
@crazyMrituals +Bang Bang!+ by zachory hill (gray1)
or they thought there was a penalty or something - I still would of ran for the QB
1 person got knocked out trying to run the "wrong ball" trick play. (He disliked this video.)
It was the part when they cheer
What the hell happened on the Statue of Liberty? The cameraman was crap.
You dont have to snap it under your legs arthur
Its cause if they tackled him they were thinking they would get a roughing penalty
wow dead man
thats why its a trick play lol
Already a sport buddy :) Look up team hand ball
Hook and ladder
False Penalty play too good
I don't buy that seeing as how defensive players are taught to watch the ball and to fire off at the snap. Something else must have happened.
ROTFLOL 1:43 he knocked the QB over after he scored
i don't like the wrong ball play its illegal the ball wasn't snapped the center picked it up turned around and handed it to the qb.............and the Statue of Liberty play isn't a Statue of Liberty play its a delay the rb is handed the ball and runs after 1 or 2 sec a Statue of Liberty is a fake pass from l.o.s (not a pump fake) then the ball is handed off or the qb can run the ball or throw a pass
i play safety i would've lite him up & when the ball move its time to eat
my pop warner team regulararly runs the "hook and ladder" so it aint really a trick play.
I don't get the first one... :/
The qb never hands is off he purposely fumbles and the dude gets over it while every body is distracted he gets up and hauls ass.
