      Yeah I'm gonna switch over to myo reps from traditional rest pause as it seems a better way to train as Borge explained it. Thanks for commenting

    Awesome interview! Funny, I was going to suggest having Lyle McDonald on to debunk a lot of the exercise science literature…he’s a bit polarizing, but seems so cut through the bs. Big thanks, as always!

      Hey Richard thanks for that great feedback. I'm trying to get Lyle to come on the channel! He hasn't done any interviews for a while but hoping to make it happen with some gentle nudging behind the scenes

      Damn, that’s disappointing…but he’s been back online calling out the bs. He had another video last Friday. If he does another one, I’ll shoot him an email and see if he’d be interested. He said he doesn’t read or respond to RUclips comments and he might read his emails, lol.

      @richardarmillei6207 yeah even Sumi went into bat for me but no dice. He can at least say "fuck off Shawn" and that would be a clear answer. He's doing a podcast with another guy this week so it's not like he's no longer doing interviews. Bit disappointing to be shrugged off by someone you've admired and help promote over the years, but that's this weird industry I guess.

    Training to failure or close to it for muscle growth - depends on the individual everyone is different. In my experience smaller muscle groups tend to respond better to high volume and moderate to low resistance.

    • @carvedouttastone
      @carvedouttastone 5 месяцев назад +1

      It's definitely a sweet spot that's different for everyone - exactly related to Borge's analogy of the suntan prescription - everyone's going to need different levels of sun exposure to get a tan.
      Yes, I've found smaller muscle groups respond.betrer to higher volumes also - but the current science would say "no" this isn't true.
      Borge also said that one of the main things holding people back is that they want to be told conclusively what to do - when in reality, you have to be your own guru at the end of the day

    • @DH-zp7bc
      @DH-zp7bc 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@carvedouttastone Correct, you have to hold your own counsel. There is also a certain pain barrier the trainee has to go through which is highly subjective, tolerance levels vary between individuals. But most people will respond positively to a level of training if it is consistent and makes them more uncomfortable than what they're used to. Then there's training for specific movements vs training for muscle growth...
