Is it good practice to close your eyes when cord changing to increase ear training and improve finger placement? Still a beginner but I find this helps me identify the cord better and notice when my finger is not correctly positioned but it’s a much slower process then just normal practice routine. I found playing the intro to ghost square hammer repeatedly helps stretch my fingers and uses my pinky finger. Your videos have made me grow as a learner fast and gave me more confidence to know I can learn an instrument, so thank you so much for your hard work.
I have been watching some of your tutorials Justin and nobody else has managed to inspire me to pick up a guitar again in over 40 years. I am a new beginer again (was rubbish 40 years ago and gave up) so thanks for the superb tuition that is shown on here. My interest is re-kindled and got my first (two) guitars just days ago. Acoustic & a Strat copy. Thank Man.
57yr old newbie about to start module 6 in the app however…..you’ve literally just opened up a whole new appreciation for the basics A, D, E….thank you so much Justin. You make music so relatable.
Imho this is hands down one of the BEST lessons. Experimenting (different strumming pattern and playing with even 1-2 chords) creates such an amazing feeling whenever you discover something that sounds great. Love it! I was stuck on E D A chords for several weeks now (still need to work on that!) and was starting to feel down but this lessons made me play around and I was stunned how much it changes the sound I create with my guitar. Thank you!
I was recently learning dissident by Pearl Jam and the verse guitar uses the C chord hammering on the E. It’s awesome to see how basic things like this lesson are applied in the songs I like!
Excellent video justin ive been playing for a few years now and i wont say am great on it sort of intermediate/amateur level and before the lockdown my teacher who am having lessons with at the mo has set me the task of finding different chords around the neck because hes said if you just use the regular ones then it can get repetitive quickly but hes done it differently and basically told me only to use the 6th and 5th strings to start off with as the other ones are more for solo stuff but when ive done it ive been more used to the power chords and barre chord grips and not been able to figure out the fancy fingering from them if that makes sense its tough to do it on your own thats why i prefer the 1 on 1 then i have an idea where to go
@6:08 The little finger work with the E chord is like WAT? It's so cool. I am so stoked to start grade 3 lessons soon. I have been trying to get groovy with the D chord sus stuff since you showed them before. Open chords are just crazy versatile. Thanks Justin 🤙🏻
I have a nurse that takes care of me on tuesday and friday but will come over on saturday instead and his kids ride my four wheeler. I have a handful of guitars.. a fender and a squire and the hohner which sounds the best of all of them... made in 86 so could be a part of that time when they bought out the martin factory in Chicago so maybe some martin stock... don't really know but it just plays so easy.... I use it a lot as I only have my left arm working but I fix my hand (right) over the sound hole and do a few chords and since his grandmother left him with a Epiphone and a Gibson. He is not broke or anything... I don't charge him for lessons either. He breaks into a rhythm then gets nervous and will quit and its just so close to going.... I am going to use this one on him as it should take him far. Thanks Justin for being one of the kindest persons I wish I had met
I love lessons like this and the sus unit on the app. I started your course as I finally wanted to play my own songs (instead of someone else doing it!) Knowing these little chord variations has made writing so much more fun!!
@@justinguitar Thanks! I did have a question about the app/website. Once the app is done (I'm on the last stage), do you recommend a certain spot to jump into the website lessons? Thanks again, man! Loving your lessons!
Very nice lesson! I muck around my chords a lot :-) Another question: at the end when you move the E chord I hear the same trouble I have a lot: scratchy string noise from switching chords. Is there a way to avoid it except lifting up the fingers which is sometimes difficult for fast movements?
I joined your site for guitar lessons partly because of your approach to using interesting chords. Some of my favorite music is melodic with interesting and dissonant chords from Davy Graham (The Fakir, Jenra) to A Perfect Circle (Rose, Renholder) so this really jives with how I want to learn to play the the way I want to write music.
Hi, I'm currently practicing lessons 8/9 on my electric guitar and was wondering when I should change from playing seated to standing. I've tried somethings standing and it's more difficult. Should I persevere or wait until I have progressed further?
HEY JUSTIN CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A LESSON OF SEETHER-FINE AGAIN? There is nothingh on internet PLEASE PLEASE 😭😭😭 IM CRAZY ABOUT THIS SONG Thanks
Thanks for watching! Check out this video on 5 chord progressions you REALLY should know! ruclips.net/video/ThwuNjbJB00/видео.html

Really like the idea of this one - opening things up.
Hi; Justin love the chord explorer.
Hey this is great. I enjoyed the slides in particular! Is it in the chord explorer? I don't remember it, done a while ago!
Thanks love from bangladesh❤👍
Thank you for your awesome lessons! By the way, when will you release lesson 12 for yellow grade?

Do you think you will ever show us how to play crazy train by Ozzy Ozbourne? Or maybe Secret Agent Man by Johnny Rivers?
@2:27 Sounds like John Lennon's song, Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy). To my ears, but i could be wrong.
