Just came down the playlist to say thanks a lot man, dont stop what you're doing, Your helping so many of us. especially those of us who want to get into pentesting lol. much respect. edit: wow you've been doing this playlist for about a year now. i dont just tip my hat to you i tip my entire head to you sir, your the best!!!!
Thank you so much Ben. Very useful. OCR of Google Lens is quite powerful and Google Pinpoint is very good at extracting text from pics. Look forward to more videos. Something on advance search techniques on social media.
For images on photos, I just aim my smartphone to my computer screen and translate with the Google Lens option. Much easier and accurate than drawing with my mouse or touchpad.
Bro I have skills now I can use them for good or use them for bad , but I want to use them for good so guide us how we can get started on our journey towards good cause and how you find yourself in a place where you are right now , coz your journey is very inspirational
Thank you so much! There are a lot of resources out there and a lot of really good accounts to follow - especially on Twitter. Providing free verification on conflicts, news and events around the world using these tools is a great way to start. You can do it on historical images, for fun in your own community with challenges (similar to QuizTime on Twitter), on weather and forest fires, human rights, conflicts and more.
That's a really good question and one that offers much debate. There can be differences drawn between the use of "INT" at the end of OSINT, terming it as intelligence rather than just information. I daresay that the stuff I show is not necessarily how to find a video or a photo or a piece of information, but instead how to analyse that information. Anyone online can access the photos I use in geolocation or analysis, but not everyone takes the extra step of geolocation, chronolocation and paying attention to fine details within the material. That's the extra step that I'd add that "INT" onto the end of open source. Of course, intelligence can have a negative connotation given it's associated with authoritarian governments tracking people (journalists and activists largely), but I'd prefer to drag the term out of that. You'll notice I also refer to this work as 'open source investigations' as well, largely because of the connotations I have with open source investigations is more of what I do than the traditional 'OSINT' which I associate with the cybersecurity and infosec realm. That being said, I use OSINT a lot because it's a term that's been widely adopted by the community, so much so that if you search that term on Twitter, you're likely to find content that's actually IMINT (imagery), photoshop skills, satellite imagery, python, or just someone that likes to put red boxes on every image they see. So the term has really been swept up by the community as an all-encompassing acronym, and given that the community has a large representation on Twitter (with its character limitations) perhaps that too is responsible for why OSINT is used, rather than longer-worded phrases such as open source investigations. I hope that answers your question a little bit. Very good chat to have about it, given that this is an emerging field.
It's not just developing countries in which we lack proper journalists who hold powerful people to account... there is a global shortage of such people.

If you want to find more the term is called osint or open sourced intelligence.
Muchas Gracias Ben, another gold tip!
Great tool and great tutorial!
Thank you!
Iphone enables you to screenshot a picture and highlight text from it. Even handwritten notes can be highlighted, copied, searched, etc.
Yes this is very underrated too - the OCR in IOS is very poweful. Lots to come out of its development in the future I am sure.
Did not know that. Good to know.

I've heard some people refer to the type of OSINT that you do as Open source investigations, instead of OSINT. What do you think about that?

The explanation is too sloppy!! Are you willing to teach people something? If you're willing to explain, explain it more thoroughly!!
