I am a hearing impaired also I lip read and I will tell you that I have come across some very mean people who doesn't want to take the time to explain and quick to call me dumb when I try to explain myself. Once they hear "sorry I'm hearing impaired I read lips can you talk slow so I can understand" their mind done made up that I'm a waste of time and dumb. It hurts but I have accepted the way I am and my family loves me the way I am.
A time I was with my husband and a sales lady was behind me and wanted to pass when I realized I apologized and said sorry I didn't hear you she rolled up her eyes without even acknowledging my apology. My husband asked her are you ok is your face hurting are you feeling unwell.... She quickly realized she got f- up nicely and said she's ok.
He would tell me they probably have worries or a hard life that's why they be mean to others.
Because of people like that he never wants me to go out alone most of the time always makes one of the kids go with me... Even tho I don't like the idea I understand he just doesn't want others to hurt me.
My mother is another story, when I was younger oh lawd she would stand up for me. But I have already written so much better stop.
Glad that I have those people in my life.
And I know how some people are on here please don't make any mean comments. And if you do then I understand you probably just not happy with yourself 😊
