  • A stray girl got into an expensive car in a snowstorm to get warm. And when she saw it on the seat, she was numb with horror and wanted to run away, but it was too late

Jayma shivered in the biting February wind. Nature started showing the first signs of upcoming spring: the sun peeked out, the puddles formed on the sidewalks, and the street birds seemed to chirp with increased cheerfulness. Jayma was relieved that the harsh winter was over. It was her first winter spent on the streets - long, icy, and unfriendly. With the warm weather, the girl dared to venture from her winter refuge to the city.
The city offered better chances for finding food. Grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants always had recently expired food, leftovers from the previous day that couldn't be served to customers. Jayma, who had starved all winter, welcomed these opportunities.
She had spent the winter in an abandoned house in the village, which she had stumbled upon in the fall. The overgrown, unattended plot was a clear sign of its ownerless state. It was just what Jayma needed. That early November evening, she had understood the imminent arrival of freezing temperatures and the long, cold winter ahead. She needed shelter, and the house had a functioning furnace, thankfully. Jayma knew how to operate it, a skill she had learned from the Caldwells; she was grateful for at least that.
She hunched her shoulders against a sudden chill. Goosebumps prickled her skin. Whether it was the lingering February cold or the memory of the family she had spent two years with, she couldn't tell. Perhaps it was a bit of both.
Jayma had never met her parents and had no idea about their identities. As a newborn, she was wrapped in a cellophane bag and discarded in a trash can. Today, with surveillance cameras ubiquitous, such an act would likely lead to the perpetrator's arrest. However, the person who abandoned Jayma remained unknown despite efforts to find them.

WOW! A happy ending to an extremely harsh life for so many. I was in tears for most of it wondering how would it be possible for anything good to happen. Somehow you just knew that a strong, young orphan would bring happiness to all. Great narrating and one of your best stories written. 🙏♥️🙏

I loved the story. It's filled with a lot of drama and suspense. The narrator has a great voice. The writers need to have someone proof read the script. There were numerous places where "he" "him" or "his" should have been "her", "she" or "she's".I hope you will shange that. If you'll go back and listen to the story yourselves you'll understand what I'm say8ng. Thankyou and pleese continue with the awesome stories.

My job is provide educational services to the highest need of child. Part of my job is to read horrifying abuse stories each day and i found that your stories put calming pictures in my head and helps me sleep. I didnt realize there were stories with horrifying abuse on channel. I am not sure that is where this story is going because i stopped at bell and punishment. I am hoping you can tell me at what time in your story the abuse stops because I would really appreciate if i could hear an ending and change what i think is going to happen.

@rotrautmellin... Story does have a good ending. Still, the reality of abuse is dark. (I knew one young woman who ran away from her abusing father, then had another ordeal with her now-ex BF; 10+ yrs later she still hadn't fully recovered, healed.)
So, as hard as it's to hear, stories like this do bring attention to a serious subject that more people need to be aware of… and, for those able, even to help.

This is not an exception amongst a certain group of foster parents nor🥲🥲 of a certain number of employees in orphanages and their awful way of treating those who depend on them🥲🥲That kind of brutal behavior also happens quite frequently in homes for elderly people🥲 And unfortunately those who are responsible, most of the time get away with it without being punished 🥲
