So very true, but if you want some fun along the same lines, try the Yakuza series. I always start with Yakuza 0 and work my way up. Don't start with Like a Dragon though, it is a very very good game, but they changed up the gameplay. My play order is 0, Kiwami (remake of the PS2 game with modern features) Kiwami 2, 3 4 5 and 6. Then when I'm out of Kiryu saga games I move onto Like a Dragon.
Great memories, best combat in an open world game, hong kong feels so alive in this game. They took all elements from gta, yakuza, batman and mafia 2 and came up with this masterpiece, also if you are big fan of hong kong movies especially chow yun fat, there's a mission in a hospital like hard boiled , a church mission as well like the killers.

How i wished to see a GTA that you can fully play as a cop, doing patrols, dismantling gangs, commanding troops, etc... sad it never happened, the only COP game Rockstar games made, as i'm aware of, is L.A Noire (great game, btw).
