Nice video, thank you. I am thinking of doing this but want to make sure I get the right shaft length. What is the distance from the mounting deck to the water? My War Eagle is about 17"...not sure if a 36" shaft will work and I don't like the idea of a long shaft taking up more space. Thanks again!

I use this because I already have it for my kayak. 48in would be better for my boat

Nice install man. I'm planning on installing my trolling motor soon but I'm not sure where to install it. The instructions mention to install it close to the the boats centerline and I was wondering what your impression is having it installed on the side of the boat. Any effect on the control or spotlock? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I prefer it in the center on my big boat but it’s not that big of a deal. Its nice having it stowed to the side and out of the way

That's what I was thinking. Probably won't have that much of an effect on a 1448 mod v.
      Thanks man

Has your trolling motor gone crazy yet?
Mine died about 4 months into having it. I took it back and got a brand new one and it did the same thing.
I couldn’t turn it unless I slowed down to the slowest setting.
Impossible to actually troll in that condition.

Yes. Very easy. 12v is a good place to start if you’re new to electrical work.

Im grabbing a 14 foot jon boat and want to be able to do this as I have an xi3 on my kayak as well. You had to buy another quick release plate eh? Any concerns about mounting off to the left side so much? it will troll straight etc?
    Thanks.

It’s best to have the trolling motor deploy as close to the center of the bow as possible but this works well enough for me
