Great info here, and thank you for not including every possible factor and keeping it mostly visibility based. Bait selection is my biggest handicap when it comes to bass fishing because I go with what I want to fish rather than what I should fish because this type of stuff can get very muddy (pardon the pun)
more than novice but less than experienced anglers usually figure out to match the hatch and cut our the areas most people have already fished or just have little resources for bass. eg boat ramps or long stretches of muddy bottoms with little cover. The match the hatch concept usually gets deferred to which is considered the most popular bait that also matches the hatch, rather than the rarely heard about bait from a highly regarded manufacturer that also matches the hatch. OR (my favorite and most highly recommended) a well made custom version of the hot bait or rarely used hot bait that is better than the popular factory versions in every way, including matching the hatch. This last situation is less risky and way more satisfying for several reasons. Because not only does it often prove to be the most productive, it is incredibly rewarding to have your instincts confirmed because you have proven to yourself, and anyone desperate enough to listen to you bragging, that your decision making and process has finally attained that level you always realistically dreamed of. BUT IT GETS BETTER! HERE'S THE CREAM IN YOUR ICE CREAM! The part where you realize you have a far better product, that out fishes the most expensive versions and costs you less than the cheapest versions, gives you a warm fuzzy feeling deep in your brain somewhere that it makes you just want to pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming!
The wigglewart is a good example of how sound works on the fish. It seems like the rattle is totally different between the post and pre rapala lures. Love your work
Thank you Hank, been fishing for 48 years now.The longer you fish the more you learn there are no absolutes in fishing.Just need to experiment to figure out the best bite.
@@BassGeek yes sir! The points you made about wind were helpful too; I hadn’t really thought about wind in the same category as light or water clarity, so that was interesting. I think I’ve always just kind of thought “if it’s windy, throw a spinnerbait”, and that’s just about all the thought I gave it lol
I didn't think that was complicated at all. Good topic and you covered it well. Man all my local lakes have about 8" of visibility. That off green water
Hey Hank, awesome breakdown. Ya it can definitely get confusing, but that time on the water will definitely get you there. Besides being out in nature what I love about fishing is you’re always learning something. #100percentwatchsquad👊
Amazing video Hank the amount of info in this 15 min is quite impressive. Thank you as always for putting out the best content on RUclips, your channel has really helped me up my fishing game. Have a great rest of your week bro tight lines !!! #100HundoSquad
Great info on breaking down the different baits to use in the different conditions. This is great for this time of year for sure. #100percentwatchsquad
Nice break down there Hank. Second guessing a bait or lure usually means I end up bringing more of them than I really need. Of course I don't use them all, never do. Tips like this will help when choosing colors, and baits for certain conditions. #100percentwatchsquad
#100percentwatchsquad Really great system! I like how you gave a ton of useful information but kept things simple. Junk fishing can be fun, but for me, it always pays to have a good plan when I head out to the water.
Great video. But I think you should have started with the water clarity bit. 95% of what I fish according to the way you laid it out. Now I’ve got to watch again and focus only on the “clear water” info. 😅
It’s easier than this. Throw a green pumpkin colored round ball head jig or a weightless senko on a EWG. In green pumpkin or baby bass. You’ll thank me later.
I love when the senko guys come out. Please come here try that weightless senko on my lake right now. Try that ball head. You might catch 5 keepers in a week. I can see bottom in 15ft how long you think it’ll take that weightless senko to get to twenty feet down cause I can tell ya. Geez.

Hahaha hey I get it we all try to force feed them at times.

Thanks for explaining your system Hank. Most folks just fish and don’t give any useful info. Your videos are so helpful and appreciated.
Thanks John

Great example
I ordered that bigdaddy bait hair jig (white) from seeing the action in your short.
Thanks Hank for showing what type of baits to throw out there 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
Great info! That was some good geeking out!
Thank you.
This is a great video! These are the kinds of videos I'm looking for. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks. We enjoyed it.

Yup like I said there are always exceptions. This is a baseline to help. There’s always that day when a Carolina rigged buzzbait works.
Love it man! Straight and to the point! I’m going to try this on kerr lake! Good info!
Hope it works
Best how to video I have seen in a long time!
Thank you
Sounds so simple the way you put it! Haha! Thank you for breaking this down, it is a lot but it makes a lot of sense.
I know it's complicated but think about water color and light first, That will give you a few baits to start with.

Now that is schooling, teach on dude. Good stuff right there.
Hahahaha Thanks
What lake do you usually fish?
I'm live right on the VA\TN State line so I fish a bunch.
Way to break it down, great video...#100watchsquad
Thank you very much Michael.
How’s everything your way after all the weather?
No power yet but all is well. Keep the others in TN and NC in ya thoughts and prayers it was bad

Just choose a senko and call it a day, catches em all times
Please come to my lake! Cause it really don’t
@@BassGeekin Rhode island wacky worm senko always gets the bigs
I’ve had plenty of days when they won’t touch a Senko but crush a jig or Chatterbait.
