His sheer versatility, natural talent and experience would be sorely missed and until we prove he cant do THE striker role I see no reason to blindly assume he cant given his conference record.

It's frustrating to see the transfer team disregard fan feedback. When Chalobah was about to be loaned, many of us fans felt it was a wrong move. Fans suggested loaning out Disasi or Badiashile instead. Now, it seems they're trying to correct their error by bringing him back after treating him bad during summer. This isn't the first time this has happened, it happened with Gallagher. It's as if the fans have a better grasp of what's needed than the board.
I remember last season under Poch, whenever Chabolah was picked in the starting 11 for the games he started, Chelsea apparently didn't lose a game when Chalobah played the full 90 minutes.
He even posted a picture with him and sanchez last match day if he comes back it's because he has a thing with the squad not because the owners want him back

I don't think his talent ID is that good because of how he is using and not using players. Casadei didn't show promise in his cameos, but we're going to sell him for a low fee and he could turn into a decent baller that could help the team? Nkunku, like you said, is a Champions League player. What will happen next year IF we finish in top 4 as we should? I don't see much hope in the near long-term with how this squad will be managed by Maresca AND the board. *sigh*
I agree but the problem is we have way too many players...you're just talking about the squad at Cobham, how many do we have on loan, Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez, Santos etc...Chelsea have never been great at selling players. There is no way Maresca can give everyone the minutes they need to develop and our bloated squad needs to be trimmed down...someone has to go. Casadei is a huge talent for the future, but will he reach his potential playing 10 games a season?

Nkunku leaving would be terrible for us but probably good for him, he is a UCL/title challenge level senior player. If Palmer takes a knock/needs a rest (he is looking leggy towards the end of games lately) or we need conference striker cover or need to change shape and play with a 2nd striker against a low block now we have been fully found out tactically and then we sell him we have fked ourselves royally. Letting Nkuku go will be a huge mistake. Pochetinno ground plan was to build His team around Nkuku. When Nkuku got injured, it affected Pochettino and took months for him to figure out a system.
£70m for Guehi who has 16 months left on his contract and will most likely not renew is crazy, even if we get him 20% cheaper. He’s probably worth around £30m, especially with his contract situation. I believe Nkunku’s injury early last season open the doors to sign palmer and palmer eventually became an important player and now it’s difficult to get his spot back. Remember Nkunku was linking up well with Jackson during preseason with pochetino just the way Jackson/ palmer is now.

What's nuts is a fact that Neto had bad game vs Palace and he was on pitch till the end. Meanwhile easy solution was to bring Nkunku on; to play behind St; move Palmer to the right side; as he played many games there; and let Gusto overlap on the right. Seems fair for a versatile RB/CB. They sell us Chalobah and we sell them Veiga or a discounted Chillwell. Guehi paired with Colwill, not bad. Some cash and some players - Chukwuemeka + Dewsbury-Hall = £40+30+20=£90 mil.
Guehi was 70m in the summer with 24 months but now it would be 42m with 20% and he being 18 months on his contract but I would go for Araujo from Barcelona and not Guehi also in the summer Guehi would be even cheaper because he will have 1 year from his contract i.e. 28m

I don’t think you really can do better than Guehi with everything he offers. Leadership, availability, defending, EPL proven, and he has shown a great ability at breaking the lines with passes, especially when he was in the England squad where there’s more talent around him to play out the back. There’s not many CBs in the world that are clearly better than Guehi. Plus I think it’s a great policy to show we are open to, selling a player and willing to buy him back shows we never give up players and understand sometimes it’s better to go and possibly come back later. Noni and Pedro Neto haven't been consistent, so trying Sancho and Palmer on the wings would give greater creativity while Jackson and Nkunku in the middle can focus on goals. Back ups in CF, CAM, LW and RW can be Guiu, Felix, Neto and Noni. Anselmino can be slowly integrated while we chase Khusanov. Khusanov is an absolute cheat code of a defender. Super Strong, Super Fast, Excellent tackling, Excellent passing, press resistant and a ball carrier. We dont need to do too much to be honest. These actions alone can guarantee our top four at the end of the season.

There's a better idea i think can solve the whole thing. Pay the fee for Guehi now to avoid competition in the summer, by which time chalobah's loan will be done and that upgrades and gives us the depth in the CB position.

I agree with your arguments that it's quite confusing why all these players are coming and going. But this is the philosophy now. Many talented players compete for a position; the ones succeeding go to the starting 11, and the rest are sold. Nkunku came in for number 10, but failed to compete with Palmer and now has to go. Same for other players. If Madueke fails to grow will be sold and ... . I hate this much chaos, but this is a modified version of Real philosophy. Zidan's team had a crazy bench, all stars were competing for the starting 11. Now this ownership wants to do with young players so that it's more financially rewarding and has the flexibility of growing them based on the club's philosophy and pattern of play. It's a super risky strategy, but given Maresca's success early this season, they could be up to sth! Just hope we would get back to winning days soon! As a Chelsea fan, I can't take this much instability and inconsistency anymore! 😭😭😭
Khusanov a fine player in there he is a complete player but chaloba back is a very good option but the risk is that he isn’t going to be put on sales again?
If we finish in a CL position end of season then we'll have plenty of ability to attract top CBs in the summer. Recall Chalobah for now. Disasi to Strasbourg. Gotta be some kind of accounting wizardry available to make that work in our favor.
Personally I would not spend anything near what Palace wants for Guehi. There are simply far better defenders out there for the same money. Chalobah would make sense to recall. He's better than what Chelsea have. As for Nkunku, Younes, Nkunku can easily play the 10 behind the striker and simply move Palmer to the RW. Now defenders would have to worry about 2 creative engines that can score instead of focusing on Palmer. They should do this IMO and they could easily do it with Felix as well. There is a solution here to have Nkunku play effectively but that coach isn't having it. Personally, I'm doing that but if the coach won't, then I guess there is no longer a solution and they can sell Christo and chalk it up to another bad signing.
Guehi plays in Colwills position. Chalobah is a CDM who transitioned to be a defender. And we want our defenders to transition into into midfield. Who better than Trevoh? He also plays on the right of defense which is what we need.
Younes it's not about sentiments, chalobah is a professional so he will come back if called. Maresca made it clear some players weren't part of his plans, but things change in football fast.

I agree but the problem is we have way too many players...you're just talking about the squad at Cobham, how many do we have on loan, Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez, Santos etc...Chelsea have never been great at selling players. I believe Nkunku’s injury early last season open the doors to sign palmer and palmer eventually became an important player and now it’s difficult to get his spot back. Remember Nkunku was linking up well with Jackson during preseason with pochetino just the way Jackson/ palmer is now.

Meanwhile easy solution was to bring Nkunku on; to play behind St; move Palmer to the right side; as he played many games there; and let Gusto overlap on the right. I don’t think you really can do better than Guehi with everything he offers. Leadership, availability, defending, EPL proven, and he has shown a great ability at breaking the lines with passes, especially when he was in the England squad where there’s more talent around him to play out the back. There’s not many CBs in the world that are clearly better than Guehi.
Plus I think it’s a great policy to show we are open to, selling a player and willing to buy him back shows we never give up players and understand sometimes it’s better to go and possibly come back later. Noni and Pedro Neto haven't been consistent, so trying Sancho and Palmer on the wings would give greater creativity while Jackson and Nkunku in the middle can focus on goals. Back ups in CF, CAM, LW and RW can be Guiu, Felix, Neto and Noni.
Anselmino can be slowly integrated while we chase Khusanov.
Khusanov is an absolute cheat code of a defender. Super Strong, Super Fast, Excellent tackling, Excellent passing, press resistant and a ball carrier.
We dont need to do too much to be honest. These actions alone can guarantee our top four at the end of the season.

Last season, when Jackson was missing his shots, the fans were begging for Nkunku to come back from his injury. A year later, some of them want to sell him. Fans are just like tides.
Maresca’s treatment of Gallagher, Chilwell and Trev is despicable and naive. Man was acting like Pep or prime Mourinho when in reality he is just a championship winning manager.
There's a better idea i think can solve the whole thing. Pay the fee for Guehi now to avoid competition in the summer, by which time chalobah's loan will be done and that upgrades and gives us the depth in the CB position.
